Here is quite a variety from the last few weeks.
When Brendan plays in the mud, he goes all in.
Trevor is so ready for swimming season, but Bailey’s pool is still a little too chilly!
Here is Trevor’s robot that he made for Earth Day at school. We have a big advantage in “recycled materials” projects because of all the cool medical supplies we go through.
Here is Trevor to tell you about the robot:
The boys have a new reward board where they can earn push pins to fill up dots to achieve different goals. When they reach goals, they can cash in their pins to buy prizes. One of the first things they bought, a pair of light sabers.
Brendan was sick again. (me too) He stayed out of the hospital, but this cold lingered a long time. Then Bill and I both had pink eye, and we are still waiting to see if they boys are going to get it.
The boys are learning about electrical circuits. “Snap Circuits” are cool toys with lots of neat projects for kids. Playing circuits with Daddy is one of the boys favorite things.
Then there was the day we drove 23 miles to the hospital pharmacy to pick up meds only to find out it was closed for renovation. No notice when I called in the refill. So frustrating! Bill drove back when it opened to find out that they had “lost” any refill requests called in during the weekend it was closed. Nice.
It wasn’t a total waste, we got to eat at Trevor’s favorite restaurant – the hospital cafeteria.
The hospital tries to be welcoming to kids. They love the light show in the big hallway.
We had our first 100 degree day of the year on Wednesday. We will have one more beautiful weekend of cooler temps, and then the roasting will begin for the summer. 🙂
First, I’m so sorry that you and Brendan were sick again…and where in the world did you and Bill pick up pink eye?? I hope the boys don’t get it!
I love Trevor’s robot! No wonder his teacher wanted to keep it to show other classes, it’s really cool!
I’m trying to figure out exactly how Brendan ended up covered in mud in the style he is wearing it?! Silly boy! 🙂 He seems to be enjoying it.
I’ve never seen a hospital cafeteria that has the good food that PCH has! Prime rib in a cafeteria! I liked eating there, too!
I like the boys with their light sabers and helmets! Very cute! You had lots of nice pictures.
I hope everyone stays well…and cool!!
Lots of love and very big hugs,
Gramma xoxoxoxo
P.S. Love the video!! xo
Pink eye is the worst. Hope the boys avoided it and you all get a stretch of good health. I think the helmets to accomany light sabers was a good idea! Haha!
Kieran loves the robot. He claims the robot’s name is Hedgehog.
The robot is WAY cool!!! I feel kind of proud I can identify where the recycled parts came from since I know all of that medical equipment lol.
So sorry you guys were feeling bad. There are lots of lingering colds floating around Ohio as well. I missed them this season (thank goodness), but caught pink eye with my current family. My patient’s brother brought in home from a birthday party and it spread like wildfire through all three kids, their Dad and I. Hats off to you an Bill for keeping it to yourselves so far!! My friend in Des Plains, Il also had pink eye recently. I guess it is nationwide. 🙁
Oh and PCH gets two thumbs down for the pharmacy fiasco!! What a waste of time. At least the boys had a fun outing because of it!
I’m loving them with the light sabers! They are too cute with the helmets!
Now, this mud play looks funny, but is excellent for Lil’ B’s skin! Maybe he will find a happy place using mud masks one day lol 🙂
