“Chef B” has been wanting to make cheesecake for a long time, and we finally set aside some time to do it. After we made and posted one to Facebook, he got special requests from friends wanting to buy one!
He worked really hard on these. He had to sit and take some “leg breaks” when he got tired. I helped with the heavy lifting.
He rolled out and crushed his graham crackers
Getting the cream cheese out of the package is tough! We used NINE 8oz packages of cream cheese today.
Our turtle cheesecake uses some sweetened condensed milk
He measured out his vanilla extract
Even though we used whole pecans dipped in melted chocolate on top, he also hammered up a bunch of pecans into bits to dust the top.
Putting on the finishing touches with the caramel, chocolate chips and pecans on top!
Now that he has made six turtle supreme cheesecakes, he wants to move on to do something different!
Our window herbs are growing nicely!
While Brendan cooks, Trevor gets to babysit the dog!
What a wonderful surprise to find one of Chef B’s amazing Turtle Supreme Cheesecakes on my front porch this morning!!. It is delicious!! ❤️ Brendan, you are a very talented chef.
It looks like it’s as exhausting being the one who has to entertain Trooper so that he doesn’t eat ingredients! Trevor, you do a great job helping with that.
Thank you, Brendan and Trevor for the Grandparent’s Day cards you made for me. 🥰 It was so nice of you. I miss you all very much. I’m sending big hugs, lots of kisses, and more love than there are words to say. I can’t wait to deliver it all in person. I am so proud of my AZ boys and all of their talents, and managing to put some fun and laughter in every day, even though it’s harder right now.
Thank you times 100! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🤗
From Gramma who loves you very very much!
Each boy carried carried out their tasks for the “Turtle Cheesecake level up”. Looking forward to catching the next morsel from Chef B’s kitchen. Trooper, what a silly dog. He is growing, but he’s still an adorable puppy. Trevor is very strong. He’s gotten quite tall. Glad to see everyone is keeping well, and I look forward to catching up when we are able.
I have to tell you a funny story about the Thanksgiving caramelly, chocolatey cheesecake. First, it was a success, everyone loved it. But the funniest thing happened later in the evening, we’re watching The Handmaid’s Tale, my sister and I, and the kids were watching a movie with their dad. My nephew, who’s 2 and a half, comes to me with sticky hands and face carrying a plate with mashed up cheesecake. He raises a fistful to feed me. I take the nibble and then go check the cake, which had been left covered on the table, and found exactly what you’d find if a 2 year old decided to serve their own self. Cheesecake victory! Hahaha!!!
