Year 2 – Week 38 – Day 4

When Brendan woke up at 1:15am, the first thing racing through my head was “Oh no, not again!” He did go back to sleep at 2:30 and slept until about 4:30. Then he was asleep again at 5 and Bill came out to trade with me! Naughty boy!

You would think from all of the pictures that I have today that the boys never left their highchairs. We planned to take Brendan to the grocery store again this morning, but when we were getting things ready, we realized that Brendan’s portable suction pump was not working. It would not turn on at all!
Bill and Brendan stayed home and waited for the supply company to bring us a new one and Trevor and I got groceries. Later in the afternoon, Trevor and I made a run to Michaels too.

Lunchtime spaghetti – Trevor wouldn’t eat the noodles before but today he decided they were OK

I caught a Trevor-fish!

Trevor is doing his impression of Brendan’s maniacal laugh

Brendan just is looking sweet and innocent

Brendan has a reason to celebrate with a giant “YAY BRENDAN”. You can almost see it in this picture

He says “I am SO cute I have to pinch my own cheek!!”

What you may have spotted in those pictures is that Brendan has a red cap on the end of his trach! He wore his trach capped for TEN MINUTES. Putting the red cap closes the trach completely and forces Brendan to breathe entirely with his upper airway.
I did not do a nasal cannula with oxygen, I left the mist collar on his neck. It must have been just enough ambient O2 because his numbers were awesome (for Brendan!) We have to work on capping longer and longer every day.

Trevor picked up a few things at Michaels today. These play dough containers were 5/$1.00 and with my 25% off everything coupon, they were even cheaper! I bought a set of 5 for each of them, I should have totally bought them out and stocked up! THe lids have little molds in them too.
The boys loved them as stackers and still don’t know that there is play dough inside.

Trevor is trying to arrange a trade to get his new horn back from Brendan. That was a Michaels score too. You should have seen the sheer delight on Trevor’s face when I squeaked it in the store!

Trevor also stopped to pick up some ice cream. He is having snickerdoodle cookie dough ice cream in a cone!

Brendan was not impressed

A little montage to finish tonight’s post. (Contains lots of horn squeaks, you have been warned)
