Year 2 – Week 50 – Day 3

I survived the first night with Brendan’s new plan and did not sleep very much. He is doing exceptionally well with it all day, but when he is asleep, his body has a hard time with the extra fast volume. Who wants to be fed in their sleep? His heart rate goes up and his sats go down, I had to turn up his oxygen quite a bit to help his sleeping body deal with the changes. Once the hour of feeding is done, everything goes back to normal.
We have made some adjustments to his schedule so hopefully he doesn’t have a problem tonight.
When I hooked his food up at 5:45 this morning, it woke him up instantly and that was it for the morning.

We went across the street today where the neighbor was having a yard sale and bought this machine for $2. (They also gave Trevor this huge Christmas train set for free! We will have to set it up around our tree this year)

Trevor loves ice and always wants to crunch ice chips. I hope that this soft flakey shaved ice is better for his teeth but still makes him happy. Ice chips have been known to stop tantrums. Trevor is signing “Cold!”

My ‘eat anything!’ kid has turned in to a ‘eat almost nothing’ kid. He used to down a cup of mandarin oranges before you could say ‘mandarin oranges’. Now he flings them instead. He even turned away strawberries. He spits out or throws a lot of things he used to love. I understand it is a common 2yr old phase, but it still is tough.

We play a game called “faces” when he is in his high chair. He works on his acting. I say “Make a HAPPY face” and he gives me this silly pretend smile. At least I have an idea what his “school photo face” will be like.

“Make a SURPRISED face”

“Make a SAD face”

Of course, he has his YUM face and a silly face and a fish face and a mad face, I will have to try to catch those.

Here is a BRENDAN face

On the productive parent side of things, Bill was trying to decide between overseeding/fertilizing the lawn or scraping the old popcorn off the playroom ceiling. He opted for the indoor activity. The room renovation is underway.

And here is some video cuteness.

  1. Good Morning from the East Coast!! Just love all of Trevor’s faces!!! He;s soooo cute! Great picture of Brendan’s face….he seems to be handling the changes in his diet…..fingers crossed that all goes well for him this weekend and soon you go on to the next steps! Bill, you make removing popcorn from the ceiling look so easy!! Good luck with that! Can’t believe that soon the boys will be 2 years old!! Prayers, hugs and love!!! 🙂

  2. Brendan sounds like he is doing well onthe new feeding schedule. Your new garage sale purchase is great and the boys will love snow cones, who doesn’t.
Trevor’s faces are wonderful and so expressive, he really is so funny and right into the terrible two’s, the food on the floor tells it all.
Hope the fund raising is going well.

  3. I love the monkey-see-monkey-do video! 🙂
All of Trevor’s faces are very cute, he needs to go to a drama class! Brendan’s face is always cute!
Bill does make taking off popcorn ceiling look easy! I heard it is a real mess. (I watch HGTV!)
Hope the feeding schedule went well last night and you all got some rest.
    Lots of love and hugs,
    Gramma xxxx

  4. I wouldn’t want a tummy full of food while I slept either. Trevor’s faces are too funny! He could be an advertising baby with his “faces on command”. Brendan-face is pretty adorable too. =)

  5. I cannot wait to try the snow cone maker! I am sure shaved ice with a little food coloring will be lots of fun 🙂

I love Trevor’s expressions and the Brendan face is SO cute! Give Bill two pats on the back for making that look so easy lol. I am sure I could ruin it if I tried…….

I am glad you survived the weekend AND with no puking! Whoo! Hoo!

  6. I love the diaper and socks look. :). They are speaking their own drumming language. All the faces are great too. Lots of cuteness, with a side of naughty. Hopefully both boys will go easier on you soon in the food department.
