Year 4 – Week 7 – Day 1

We had the HopeKids Christmas party to attend today, but I wish we could have had a few more days to recover. Fortunately it was really warm today. All Trevor could talk about all day was going to the party and playing in the snow.

We got there in time to watch the big trucks making all of the snow

Then Santa pulled up on his AZ style sleigh

Poor Brendan was so tired. He has been feverish on and off today and coughing so much.

We rode the little “train” around the parking lot

Then we had to get back to check the progress of the snow

Then Trevor got “the hammer”. (We ended up playing “Hammer Game” all night all the way up until bedtime. Hammer game is bopping each other and fencing until you can knock the hammer out of the other’s hands and yell “disarmed!!”)

They hammered all over the fire truck to “fix it”.

Not in a fixing mood

Back to the snow. Once they stopped spraying and all the kids got in the pile, it got really rowdy.

Time for a cupcake

Oops, sat in the snow. Not thrilled.

Trevor got to spray the real fire hose. He needed them to spray the blue frosting off of his face!

After we got home and tried to make some dinner, Brendan’s fever reached 102. I really hope he gets some good rest tonight.

Oh, and I almost forgot yesterday’s meeting of the pre-school teacher was very frustrating. I won’t judge after the first day, but I was expecting something totally different. I hope that Brendan will benefit and this won’t be a total waste of our time and something else to stress about scheduling.

  1. Poor little Brendan…you can see how bad he was feeling. 🙁 There’s no Brendan smile, and he looks so sad. I hope he’ll be better tomorrow, and his night isn’t too bad. I wish there was something I could do besides sending love and hugs, and hoping this illness goes away soon.
Trevor looked like he had some fun at the party. Snow in AZ!! He looks very cute with his blue cupcake face! 🙂 He must have loved being able to use a real fire hose! I wish it could have been a better day for all of you.
I hope the in-home preschool will turn out okay, but it doesn’t sound like it went well. You sure could use something to go right and be positive.
I hope things will be better soon. I love you all very much, and it breaks my heart to hear you are having a hard time, and those little boys are so sick.
    Hugs and kisses,
    Gramma xxxxxxxxxx

  2. One aspect, of Navy life, is being a fire fighter. Aboard ship, there’s no “Fire Department to call, so the whole crew has to be trained in the use of fire fighting equipment. Trevor, it looks like you did a great job as “Nozzle-man” – – – yeah I’ve been there.
I’ll keep hoping ” Get Well Soon “, snow is more fun when it can be enjoyed in good health, and when it is as rare as it can be in Arizona, the opportunity to enjoy it doesn’t come around too often.
Get well, Be well, and have some fun ! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  3. Good evening from the East Coast!! Trevor certainly had a lot of fun…the train ride, the hose and the snow!!! What fun!! I too share Gramma’s concerns about Brendan. Poor lil’ B just doesn’t look like his old self. Hoping he shakes that fever and starts feeling better soon! It takes a special person to be a pre-school teacher with a student who has special concerns such as Brendan. Hoping your first impression does not prove to be true! Hoping he/she turns out better than you anticipate. Also hoping that you have some recourse…Brendan deserves THE BEST teacher!!! Looks like Trevor is finally getting better!! Prayers, hugs and love that Brendan wakes up to a better day!!! love you!! 🙂
