Before the week escapes me entirely, I need to do a post!
Saturday, while we were still in Libertyville, Brendan and Bill were hanging out at the Tempe transportation day. Brendan got to check out lots of cool vehicles, and see police horses!

Trevor and I were at the birthday party!

Kieran had a blast at the party too!

Trevor was overwhelmed by the noise and the crowds. We tried to run around outside but it was 50 degrees and raining!!

We missed the cake and singing, but Trevor took a really good nap in the car. We saw the birthday boys again before the party was over.

Sunday, we had a picnic at Aunt Heather’s house to celebrate Kayla’s 8th grade graduation! Congratulations Kayla!
We should have brought a cardboard cutout of Brendan so that he could have been in these pictures. Gramma could barely wrangle her tsunami of grandsons as it was!

We tried for more group shots with Aunt Letty but the cries rang out “You are squishing me!!!”

The girls weren’t in these pictures because they were too busy with their friends. Kayla is getting ready to be a high-schooler.

We had an exhausting trip, there was so much to do and so little time. It was great to see Aunt Letty too, but we didn’t really have much time to visit. Monday, we went to the airport and we “stole” a Kayla!
It was a decent flight home, and the last few days have just been about trying to recover and do laundry.
Brendan kept asking Kayla to build him a Lego Wall-E. She made him one without even looking up a picture. Pretty good work!!

Kayla was eager to dig in to some of the model kits that were part of our last big bulk purchase. We had a ziploc bag with a kit number on it that turned out to be a Star Wars x-wing fighter. About 80% of the parts were in the bag, the rest had to be “scrounged” from the giant pile!

We only had the instruction book for the Star Wars ARC-170 Fighter. It had to be 100% scrounged from the pile. We almost gave up on it twice! 396 pieces to find! We weren’t totally successful in locating every one, but we were able to make a few substitutions.

There are at least 6 more ziploc bags of kits left with plenty of scrounging necessary. Kayla is already asking which one is next!
The boys both love having their cousin here, although it has been quite a rough couple of days. Trevor is finally catching up on sleep and starting to act more like himself. He was living in meltdown city full time for a while!
It has been well over 100 degrees here since we got home, but this weekend we are supposed to have cooler temperatures.

Last weekend went so fast that it seems like it was a year ago! I’m so glad you could bring Trevor here for all of the birthdays, graduation, and new cousin on the way celebrations!! We missed Brendan and Bill, and hope the next family trip won’t be a long time from now. 🙂
It looks as though Brendan and Daddy found fun things to do. And it seems like Brendan is happy that you brought home a Kayla. I know she was looking forward to building things with your Legos!
I hope everyone is having a good time and recuperating from a whirlwind trip and lots of chaos. We miss you here.
Lots of love and bigs hugs for all,
Gramma xoxoxo
