We had a good week with family in town, lots of gatherings and dinners and busy time. I did not take pictures!
It wasn’t until the very last day that I got some photos of Beth and Steve with the boys.
You wouldn’t believe that earlier in the day, they were up to their chins in mud.
Trevor’s shoes came off in the mud. We had to dig them out two days later when it was all dry.
Our sad news is that on Friday, we had to say goodbye to Eins. He had been acting normal (for him) all day, but in the evening he had some kind of attack and couldn’t breathe. Beth and Steve played with the boys and kept them entertained so that they would not see the distress he was in. Bill and I were en route to the animal hospital when he passed away.
He was a unique dog with the most laid back personality. He will be missed.
We are now a petless home and removing all of the signs of “dog” in the house feels very strange.
First, I was so sorry to hear the sad news about Eins. That’s a really nice picture of him that you posted. It’s a nice way to remember him. He always knew I was a soft touch for a dog biscuit. 🙂
Mud, mud, and more mud!! It’s funny that Trevor lost his shoes in the mud! 🙂 It looks like they had a good time. Are their shoes salvageable?? 😉
Nice pictures of Bill and boys with Beth and Steve. It’s nice that you were able to spend time together.
Lots of love and hugs,
Gramma xoxoxoxo
I am so sorry Eins was a sweetie.
The boys sure look cute covered in mud…..You mush have the busiest washing machine in the State.
So many great smiles with the company……Love it
Trevor loses his shoes in the mud….Family loses a dear pet …. sad news.
Eins will be missed, by all who knew him.
I was quite a bit older than the boys when we lost my first dog, Toby. She was part Doberman, part Chesapeake Bay Retriever. She was, for the most part, a gentle dog, the “retriever” part, but when she wanted to be left alone, we “left” her alone 😉 it was best to not annoy her “doberman” side. She was particularly defensive of her “place” under the living room couch, when she was there, we really left her alone.
Hope the shoes are found, cleaned, and usable. Hope the recovery from your loss goes well, and the happy memories, override the sadness, quickly.
Good morning from the East Coast. So, so sorry about Eins..it is so difficult to lose a pet family member 🙁 Big hugs!! Loved, loved the mud pictures!!! You will have to put GPS tags on Trevor’s shoes. 🙂 How wonderful that Bill’s family was there for a visit!! The boys must have loved seeing everyone!! Again, so sorry for your family’s loss! Hugs, love and prayers!! 🙂
It looks like fun was had by all, and I loved Brendan’s soggy britches full of mud!
That’s a really awesome picture of Eins! He was well loved and had a good life for all that he went through. He was an Aylesworth all the way – tough, determined, and not willing to let even big challenges keep him down.
