Week 26 – Day 5

I did not like today.

I did not sleep a minute last night because of my sore throat and dripping nose. I drove Gramma to the airport at 4:30am (she made it home safely!). I could not go see Brendan and I miss him. It is very unsettling to not visit him every day, and I probably will need several days away.
The nurses have assured us by phone that he is doing well today.

Bill’s family is working on arrangements for Grandpa Jack to go home to his own house with hospice care. Tomorrow there should be more information.

Trevor seems to be feeling OK, not showing symptoms like I have. He was a bit cranky for the last half of the day but took several nice long naps. He hasn’t pooped since Wednesday again and is starting to have trouble taking his bottles. I really hope that he can get his tummy issues straightened out. He will be seeing his pediatrician real soon for his 6 month checkup so we can talk about it again.

He keeps his fingers and hands in his mouth all the time and drools non stop, so he may have some tooth buds forming. No sign of them visibly.
We bought him a wrench to use on his gums, it is nice and gummy and cool from the fridge. He likes it until it gets warm!

It matches his Daddy’s Little Helper shirt!

Thank you very much to Lisa and Leonard (and Lex!) for dinner tonight. It was a bright spot in a gray day. Trevor obviously has a new friend!

Sorry about complaining for the blog today! Hopefully tomorrow I will feel well enough to be productive if I can’t be at the hospital.

  1. So sorry y’all have caught a bug – never fun to be sick but when it involves your Brendan time makes it worse – feel better soon! And as for “complaining”, to me you are a most positive person and with all you have endured you are allowed a day or so of “complaining”. 🙂 Glad to hear Gramma made it home okay.

  2. Bugs happen, and you are allowed to complain all you like. I am so glad you were able to make it this long before anyone caught anything, seeing as how often everyone has been in and out of hospitals through the entire flu season. Miss Brendan like crazy, and smother Trevor like crazy as best you can while you can’t be at the hospital.

  3. Hope you kick that bug quickly, it’s never easy when you’re not feeling well.
You are doing the right thing for Brendan, please don’t think for even a moment that you’re not.
    Love you

  4. Good afternoon from the East Coast! Gramma, glad you made it home safely! Tiffanie, how frustrating for you that you caught that nasty micro organism! Heal quickly! We have endured a whole host of them here…even pneumonia for myself…I was so worried that you would end up catching something…kudos to you for lasting this long! But, it has to be so frustrating, I am so sorry that you are not feeling well and away from Brendan! For now, give Trevor double hugs and kisses…in no time you will be making that drive back to Brendan! Enclosed..lots of love, prayers and hugs for all of you and Jack too!!! 🙂

  5. Surprised and lpleased you did a blog today. Hope you feel better real soon. Trevor looks so cute chewing on his wrench. I am Sure Lexus just loved Trevor…..She is such a cutie.. – This gives the nurses a chance to spoil Brendan like crazy with no one watching. I am sure he is being smothered with loving caregivers some of whom may be grammies with no grandchildren here to hug….Love ya
