Year 6 – Week 9 – Day 6

Merry Christmas!

I have to post the boys’ holiday photos today, they were taken the same day as their birthday pictures so there are not too many! I had to bribe them with an early present to get them to allow me to tie them up in lights.

Today, we took a drive up to Fountain Park in Fountain Hills, AZ. They have a nice playground.

Birds to chase!

And a fountain that shoots water nearly 400 feet in the air every hour on the hour.

The boys just wanted to throw rocks in the water. It is what they do.

We really drove north looking to see some of the snow (without driving in it, the roads in the high country have been dangerous and many closed down)

There were some pesky clouds that wanted to obscure the peaks of Four Peaks. But it was still beautiful.

The boys had a present opening frenzy this morning after we had a wonderful dinner with friends for Christmas Eve. It was a great weekend.

  1. The Christmas pictures are wonderful, as usual! You have very photogenic boys! I love the outfits, too. They look like 2 little elves. 🙂
It looks like you had a nice ride and saw some beautiful scenery. I’m glad you had a nice Christmas weekend. It came and went very fast this year!
Lots of love to all of you, and big hugs and kisses for the little green elves!

  2. Good morning from the East Coast!! The boys should be in modeling!! Their pictures bring such joy!!! 🙂 You truly live in a beautiful state!! You can experience all 4 seasons in a short ride and “fall” is literally in your own backyard LOL!! Hope your neighbor has put more effort in cleaning up, than blaming your poor tree 🙁 , sigh. The ‘fountain” park was really beautiful. Happy to hear that Christmas was special!! Hugs, love and prayers!! 🙂

  3. Great photos !!!!!
Been a bit busy packing up for my move to the assisted living center, in Gurnee.
The move will be made on Jan 7 – ? depending on how efficiently things can be relocated.
If you haven’t heard, the “psych” at the V.A., determined that my mental state is not conducive to operating a motor vehicle, and reported that finding to the State, and my license has been revoked.
Heather, as my P.O.A., has taken the car, and will see that it is sold. The living center, will be a better place to live, and they can provide needed transportation to events, movies, outings, etc., and there are walking trails I can get to for my daily walks, when the weather gets better.
I was able to have Christmas breakfast with Erin and family, and then Christmas dinner with Heather and family, so my Christmas this year was just that much more special. Erin and Heather both have been very supportive, and even are helping me pack for the move.
The cost of the living center will be considerably less than the cost of staying in Vernon Hills ( no property taxes, Association fees, water bills, light bills, and once the condo is sold, no more mortgage payments ) and I will have a number of people to “swap sea stories with”. I’ll let everyone know my new phone number, and address as soon as possible after the move is made.
Hoping I can still use the same email address with the center’s internet access. Will notify if that changes.
    Happy New Year !!!! 🙂 🙂
    Dad
I will also have most, if not all , my furniture with me, so life should be more like normal, and the extra benefits will help ease the transition.
