Week 39 – Day 1

Brendan had a pretty restless night and a pretty crappy morning. I spent the whole first half of the day holding him and rocking in between suctioning. He was improved over yesterday though, so that was a good thing. It was enough to keep him out of the clinic/hospital.
As long as I kept him comforted in my lap, he was able to sleep. Getting plenty of rest seemed to be what he needed because by this evening, he woke up in a downright silly mood. He was very bright and smiley again and made me feel a lot better. Heart rate is coming down more and more, breathing is getting better. No vomiting, I definitely have a much better day when there is less sour formula smell.

Brendan always takes comfort in petting his little lion buddy

He tells it little secrets

“Go away, I am talking to the lion!”

Trevor got tired of waiting for lunch, so he decided to call for some take out

He got a bucket of tater-tots and proceeded to scatter them on the floor

Mmmm… peppermint tot

They were so good, he had to lick the bucket

Brendan found the whole thing to be silly.

Of course, he was being a couch potato in his bouncy chair looking down at the goings-on

Trevor and his teddy bear

Trevor loves his dogs. Quinn is starting to trust him a little more, especially when he is allowed up on the couch.

  1. Good Morning from the Lake House! I wish there was a way to package extra energy, more reserve, and peacefulness…I would have a tractor trailer pull up to your house with the delivery! Whew!! Sooo glad Grandma is still there with you!! Us blog followers, however, see two beautiful boys!! And the difference in Brendan’s persona since he has been home is amazing. He too, like Trevor, is growing up, so fast!! Watch out Trevor, your brother is catching up, fast! Hoping today and tonight will give the adults a chance to “catch up” and the boys have a fun, restful day!! Still, many prayers, tons of hugs and much love!!

  2. So glad to hear things are improving. I remember that sour formula smell well, Amelia used to get herself so worked up trying to overcome her seizure med agitation at night she’d upchuck every night. Thank God those days are over! You all continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs to all of you!
