Week 15 – Day 5

Today started out with a visit to Brendan. Since Bill is feeling better, he stayed home with Trevor so that Gramma could go with me to the hospital.
Brendan had a pretty good morning. He was agitated a bit when we got there, but once I picked him up and settled him in on my lap, he was happy for hours. He really likes to be sitting up. I think this lets him be the most aware of all the things going on around him, and it lets his back get some cool air on it.
They have ordered him a CT scan of his chest. The doctors are just not happy with the chest x-rays and don’t feel like they are getting enough information. They are going to have to anesthetize him, which means no food for at least 6hrs ahead. So they put him in for the CT to be done at 8am tomorrow.

This is a pretty typical Brendan look

Sitting up the way he likes, the pacifier makes a good place to help hold up his head!

While he was sound asleep, I finally was able to trim his long nails!

He got to spend some time with Gramma too

Trevor had a good day with Daddy. He gets lots of extra attention when Brendan is not around to demand it. There is a running joke in the house. Trevor can be absolutely sound asleep, hanging like a limp noodle in your arms, but the moment you try to lay him in to his bed, he wakes up. Or you put him in bed and within 3 minutes, he is wide awake, talking and asking to be picked up again with his sad little cries. So Gramma says that there are ants in his bed that tickle him when he tries to sleep and then she rescues him!

I don’t know, I don’t see any ants.

  1. An anteater is on the way! Hang on, Trevor, Gramma will save you.
Even though I help take or pose the pictures…they are always cuter when they are posted on the blog! And, of course, the boys just get cuter all the time in person. Tonight on the phone, Ashley told me that she “knows me too well” and that I was probably “smothering the babies with kisses and hugs”!! I asked her if she remembered me doing that from when she was a baby…her reply was “yes, but also she has still not gotten too old because I still do it”! I think she does know me too well. 🙂

  2. Ashley says she is not too old to be smothered with hugs and kisses from Gramma. I asked when she would be too old and she said “never”. Kayla agrees 100%, so smother away! Love the ants, can’t wait to see the anteater! I am so glad that Brendan has turned into a cuddle bug, and from what I hear has a look that makes this middle school teacher proud. We keep sending our best wishes and prayers to Brendan. He needs to catch a break soon!
