Week 16 – Day 7

Brendan had a thorough ultrasound on his entire lower abdomen today and it found nothing abnormal. Kidneys, liver, spleen, gallbladder, bladder, bile ducts, stomach, intestines…everything they could look at looked healthy and normal.
He was pretty well doped on Ativan today so it was difficult to tell if he was feeling better or not. They are going to switch him from that to a Clonadine patch. Hopefully it will help his blood flow, heart rate and make him feel a little more relaxed at the same time.
We are still waiting on the cardiology team to make him a new plan for his surgery.

Bill and I gave him a thorough sponge bath today and changed his leaky ostomy bag and for a short time, he was feeling pretty good.

Trevor helped Gramma sort through the room full of baby clothes and make a giant pile of things that don’t fit. Now his drawers actually are organized! They cooked a great dinner too!
And on top of it all, he is as cute as can be.

  1. Tiffanie and Bill, Just want you to know how much these little guys mean to Bobby and I. We want you to know that we pray every day for Brendan and all of his needs and pray for the two of you to have the strength it takes to keep on going. Emotionally and physically. They are both so adorable. Trevor sure is getting big. And they are both so sweet. Thankyou for being so faithful to the blog, Tiffanie. We’ve become so attached to the boys. I hope you don’t think that’s weird, we just care alot about all of you. God Bless you, much Love Michelle and Bobby and the rest of our family : ) Happy Valentine’s Day!

  2. Happy Valentine’s Day!!!! You are the living Valentine’s Day!! Bill and Tiffanie, your love and devotion to your family and the love that Trevor and Brendan reflect back to you in their eyes is an amazing gift!! You are extraordinarily special parents and family!! That includes all your families!! Lots of love and tons and tons of hugs!! We love you!! 🙂 🙂

  3. In the second picture of Brendan, there is a calm and a peace that rarely is there. His eyes aren’t wide opened, and frightened looking. I pray for the day when that becomes his “normal” face.
In all things there is balance. For all the suffering you’ve endured with Brendan, there’s been the balancing joy of Trevor.
    Happy Valentines Day,
    Love,
    Dad

  4. Bill and Tiffanie -we read your blog. Each day with much love, concern, joy for forward steps, and hope when things aren’t as smooth..We pray for. You guys for strength to carry on your daily routines, and long for the day when both boys will beableto really enjoy each other’s company. They are both so adorable! We marvel at your energy, and the true love you show out each and every day .What a beautiful Valentine’s gift these little guys are. Trevor reminds me so much of Cathy’s little Brendan, who is 4 1/2months old. Soon your little Brendan will catch up! it would be cute to see these three cousins playing together! Hopefully some day that will happen.
We continue to pray for all of you, that the Lord will continue to give you strength, that the doctors will have wisdom in determining the course of action, and that your little family will be home altogether , healthy and flourishing real soon. Thank you Tiffanie for your dedication in writing this daily post. Well appreciate it so much. A. Janet and U. Bob

  5. Happy Valentine’s Day! We hope that a day dedicated to the heart will bring some kind of plan for Brendan’s heart. While we appreciate the upbeat information, it is also OK to be worried, to be exhausted, to want to scream at doctors, to want to kidnap Brendan away from wires and bags. One day at a time is all you can do. Both boys will have such stories to tell their future girlfriends and guy pals! One day, I’ll be checking this blog and seeing the boys posing with Daddy on his quad, read about them eating their first corn bomb, and laughing at the pathetic look on the dogs’ faces as they find themselves buried in twin boys. We so wish we could be there to help! We’ll just keep sending prayers and positive thoughts!
