Week 23 – Day 3

Brendan was given some breathing challenges today, the ventilator was set to do nothing but give him his PEEP support to keep his lungs open and he was on 60% oxygen. He did pretty well for the two hour “sprint” although about halfway through, they had to give him a little more pressure support because he was breathing too fast. He is going to be given challenges every day so that he does not get used to letting the machine do all of the work for him.
As soon as his trach is healed, he is going to get lots of tummy time.

He was in a good mood today.

He let me know when he was done with me

He was awake and interacting with me for hours again, then finally drifted off for a nap.

Although, something in his dream was still pretty funny

Trevor had a super big day today, he got to go outside in the backyard and do laps up and down the patio (in the shade!) in his cool new stroller. He really is starting to notice and love his dogs. The dogs were thrilled to chase Gramma and Trevor up and down the patio!!

I interrupted flying time with the camera

Something I haven’t tried yet, an animated gif

  1. So great to see Brendan’s dear face……Trevor looks like he is having a ball every day – as it should be….v

  2. Hahaha, those pics of Trevor and the dogs are hilarious! BFFs in the making!

Love the fact that the “smiling Brendan” pics seem to be stacking up at a much faster rate these days. Hoping the trach heals quickly!

  3. Good morning from the East Coast! Brendan’s smile just lit up our world! Such a handsome fella!! Trevor really likes his stroller…he knows that he is one step closer to the ATV!!! So happy that you had a little less, stress-filled day loving and playing with Brendan. Prayers still going for all of you and Bill’s Dad! Much love and many hugs!! 🙂

  4. It’s overcast and wet here this morning, but that first picture lit my day brighter than any sunshine could have !!
—and then — Look! up in the sky! It’s super Trevor! 🙂 🙂 🙂
