Week 28 – Day 1

What a busy day! Bill was in the office today. I went through Trevor’s morning routine and then packed him to go with me to the hospital today.
He was entertained by Brendan’s little swing while I took a shower.

We had to take the whale stroller to be able to carry Trevor and all of the stuff that I was taking in for him and Brendan today.
Trevor was so charming, flirting and smiling at all the nurses. He was eating up the attention. They all were impressed with how big and strong he was and his gorgeous blue eyes and big smile.

We need to teach Trevor that it isn’t polite to blatantly stare at a lady’s chest! He did that a lot today!

I had a family meeting at 11:00am and Trevor came with me. I was sitting at a table with the doctors, nurses and social worker and Trevor was kind of sitting on the table in front of me listening very intently to each person that was talking.
Then suddenly, an eruption shook the table. A fart so loud and boisterous and juicy that everyone was left speechless for several seconds until they all burst out laughing. Trevor’s pear juice obviously kicked in, he just needed an audience.
We finished up the meeting and went back to the room. I plopped Trevor in to the pack and play to change him, without realizing that he had pooped all the way up to his neck. His outfit was soaked, my shirt was soaked, now the pack and play sheet was covered.

Trouble Trevor finally clean! Fortunately I had just brought clean blankets for Brendan and I had some clean jammies that fit in the diaper bag.

Brendan did another six hour sprint today. Tonight he is going to have another go at it, they are going to do a six on – six off cycle with the NAVA and automode to see how he handles it. Just one step closer!
He was a good boy today.

Somebody found their thumb! I was watching close to make sure it wasn’t a tube pulling diversion tactic.

He was feeling silly

He saved his biggest smiles for when Daddy showed up. He hadn’t been able to see him in a few days and Brendan lit up when Bill talked to him.

The boys were never awake at the same time. Trevor took a nice long nap which allowed me to give Brendan a good thorough sponge bath and change his ostomy base. The therapist came and sat him up for play time too, it would have been good Trevor visiting time if he hadn’t been so deeply snoozing.

The boys are looking forward to seeing their Aunt Shannon tomorrow. She is coming from Pittsburgh to visit! Then Friday they get to meet DrUncle Jon too!

  1. Good morning from the East Coast! Looks like the boys are practicing for their their special visitors!! All those smiles!! How exciting! Hope Aunt Shannon and Uncle Dr. Jon have a safe journey. Keep up the good work Brendan! Trevor, way to go get your point across at the meeting!! Just packing up Tiff must have been exhausting, but so worth it. Praying that Brendan’s recovery continues without complications and soon he will be home! Hugs for everyone!! Much love! 🙂

  2. Such gorgeous smiles all around! Trevor, good show but please try not to make such a mess…ok? 🙂 Brendan you are doing so well, keep up the good work!!

  3. So happy to hear that Brendan is doing so well on “the sprints”. He’s getting stronger.
Trevor…………O K, you are still young enough to get away with it. 😮 🙂 🙂 for a while yet. 😉

  4. I guess Trevor decided he needed to be part of the meeting too, to lighten up the talk a little. Guess all of the prunes and pear juice are working well! And I bet he felt really good afterward too. It is so wonderful to hear Brendan’s strides. It’s like he has finally hit his rhythm and can really start growing.
