Week 28 – Day 7

Uncle Jon and Aunt Shannon have to leave early early in the morning tomorrow, so we all took Trevor and spent the day at the hospital with Brendan.

Trevor tried to look his cutest to get all the attention possible. He even has a fancy pair of shoes.

Trevor spent almost 2 hours lying at the end of Brendan’s crib watching the mobile and making silly sounds with Aunt Shannon. As long as someone kept spinning the mobile critters, he was absolutely thrilled and even giggling.

After a while it was too much and he took a nap in his pack n play.

After the nap, he had a quick snack of frog legs

He went a really long stretch without eating and then took that nap, so when he woke, he was feeling really hungry. He drank NINE ounces of milk and then had to let his tummy out to breathe while he had his shirt for dessert.

Brendan had a few spells of discomfort and stress today, but as a whole he had a great day. He felt especially silly.

He loves the bearded one

He is giving me his best “I am innocent” face.

Aunt and Uncle have to say goodbye. Brendan shook on a deal with Shannon that he will be home before she comes back for a visit next month.

Brendan had 2 hours on the Trilogy ventilator. He stressed pretty hard initially and was breathing really fast, but he settled in and met his goal. Instead of trying to transition him straight to that vent, they are working him pretty hard in short bursts to strengthen his breathing muscles. He will have a bronchoscopy next week to determine his long term breathing needs. In the meantime, he is just going to work on getting stronger.

Trevor did such a good job all day with his brother. He had a blast being there and was wiped out tonight when he went to bed!

  1. Bye bye Aunt Shannon and Uncle Jon! I’m sure the boys will miss you. They will be much bigger and doing new things when you stop by again the end of June when you are in Las Vegas for Jon’s brother’s wedding. I guarantee you will miss those adorable little faces in the meantime.
Good job, Brendan! You are looking so much better and working hard to meet your challenges. Maybe next week there will be more information after your bronchoscopy. Your smile is a beautiful sight to see!
Trevor, it appears you are getting more adventurous and spoiled by the moment! You were really rocking those jeans shorts and shoes! Too cute! You are having lots of field trips, and eating new foods. Soon you will have a brother at home to play with. Wow…lots of good stuff happening! It’s about time. Gramma will keep sending all the positive thoughts and love I can until I can see you all again. I miss you very much.
Hugs and Kisses for all of my loves, big and small!
    Gramma XOXO

  2. Good morning from the east coast! Heartwarming, are all your pictures Trevor and Brendan! It is so easy to see why everyone falls in love with you two!! And Brendan, I agree with Gramma…you are looking soooo much better each and every day. Trevor better start planning for your homecoming!! May Aunt Shannon and Uncle Jon have a safe journey home!! Giant hugs to Mommy and Daddy to help them do what they do!! Of course, huggies to both of you too! Prayers still going, and tons of love to all! 🙂

  3. T-Dogg and Li’L B – thanks for an AWESOME visit! I can’t wait to see you again in June (at HOME!!). I won’t have the amazing beard man (aka Uncle Jon) with me, but maybe by then I’ll have gotten a haircut. 😉

Tiffanie and Bill – thanks again for letting us crash in “Gramma’s Apartment”. I can’t believe how fast the time flew by. See you again soon!
