Week 39 – Day 5

Another Saturday comes and goes and it is our night awake all night with no nurse. Brendan is having a miserable withdrawal night tonight, after a whole day of no smiles. We didn’t take any pictures until the last minute, but couldn’t get him to even ham for the camera. He is tired now and just uncomfortably fighting sleep while Gramma tries to rock him.

We can’t wait until all the weaning is over and he can feel better.

Trevor had a good day and went to bed early after skipping out of his afternoon nap again. Just as I was about to try to sell the baby swing, I remembered that it came with a tray that clicks on it. Trevor hasn’t been able to sit in the swing because he tries to sit up and hang over and I was worried about him falling. With the tray clicked in, he is definitely much more secure.

He was excited about the tray being something new

It is like a roller coaster ride… wheee!

Something else new today, Trevor got to try a slice of avocado. He tried it.. and he liked it!

He enjoyed mushing it in his fingers just as much as eating it.

  1. Poor Brendan! Weaning off meds is tough business. It’s a necessary step, and he is just too little to understand. I hope he recovers soon and can get back to smiley self! Trevor looks like he has just about outgrown that swing. In that last picture, he looks like he is trying to figure out how yummy stuff squishes out, and why the stuff changes every so often.

  2. I hope Brendan feels better soon! After everything he has been through he is obviously one tough cookie and will get through the weaning too. The most amazing thing about babies is when they do smile it makes all the bad and exhaustion all worth it. As for Trevor-in the first avocado picture when I read “He tried it….and he liked it” I definitely heard that in my head to the tune of the song in Yo Gabba Gabba lol. They are both so cute and I am so happy you have been doing this blog because I love my daily dose of the boys!
