Week 41 – Day 4 – Adventures in Self Feeding

Today was all about making a giant mess!

This morning, after scarfing down his puffs in record time, Trevor insisted that he had to have his spoon to eat his prunes.

Bored Brendan does not understand Trevor’s enthusiasm for these things

Trevor is getting cranky going in to the jungle now. He will still play, but he plays angry. He knows Brendan gets attention.

We are trying to give Brendan as much floor time as possible to help him work on his rolling and strength

He still likes his pseudo-hammock naps!

Mr. I-Want-To-Do-It-Myself could not open the lid

Trevor was going to have a different kind of afternoon snack!

It is too crowded in here!

Good thing the new crib arrived today!!

Brendan had a take-two on his speech therapy today since he was very uninterested and cranky yesterday. He got another cool new bitey toy to work on and was a lot more cooperative. One of the things she suggested is to make Brendan some mashed potatoes and let him shmooo them around on the tray of his high chair and get it on his fingers and maybe get a taste of them.
I made up mashed potatoes at dinner time but then Brendan was too tired to sit in his high chair. So I gave them to Trevor instead. He liked the shmooo part.

But then he tasted them!

“This had better not be what is for dinner or I am going to bed hungry!” (he got oatmeal and pear-squash after he was cleaned up!)

Tooth tooth toooooth! The second bottom one is a bump that should cut through any time now. Trevor is getting caught up! Brendan may be cutting a top one though, the race continues!

  1. What a great bunch of pictures on the blog today!! I don’t know which one is my favorite.
I love the “I don’t like mashed potatoes” face!! I didn’t know they were sour!
Nice new bed, Brendan. Now maybe you will have room for your brother to play. You look so little in your new bed!
Looks like Trevor spends a lot of time getting baths! First, prunes, and then potatoes…
Glad to hear speech therapy went well today. Brendan looked a little tired today…still cute as ever.
Great job on putting the blog together tonight. Give the boys a lot of “smothering” from Gramma.
    I miss you all.
    Lots of love, Gramma

  2. Good morning from the East Coast!! Brendan and Trevor, we spent some time looking back at October/November blogs!! You two have come a long way “baby”!!!! It was exhausting reliving that month through your blogs. Again…you two have the best parents and family EVER!! Trevor….just loved the prunes and the potatoes pictures! Isn’t it great becoming one with your food!?! Brendan, you are sporting a mighty fine new monkey bed!! And next time stay awake when the mashed potatoes arrive, they really are tons of fun….don’t let Trevor’s face dissuade you. Will start cranking up the prayers for Brendan’s upcoming surgery and sending big hugs and love for all! 🙂

  3. You only need to worry if Trevor starts sculpting mountains out of his potatoes. And who wouldn’t want to cut those teeth on your brother! Keep growing boys!
