Week 43 – Day 3

The wonderful thing about writing this blog is taking some time each night to reflect on the day and focus on all of the positive moments. Some days can be so stressful, but being able to have a good laugh at the end is very therapeutic. Bill has been very busy with work and other business, and the boys are reminding me that I don’t have enough hands for both of them at the same time.

Brendan had speech therapy today and will again tomorrow to make up for missing last week. His food aversion is very powerful and he starts to cry as soon as he sees the therapist because he knows what she is going to want him to do.
Once she leaves, he does all the things with us, he just doesn’t trust her. Of course, we get silly.

All the extra tubing is a Trevor shield to keep him from pulling on the real tubes. Brendan loves it.

Trevor still enjoys his morning baths. He has probably had 3 days in his whole life since being home that he has missed a bath. This morning he made turtle soup.

Somehow he found one of Brendan’s soothie pacifiers. He went about using it his own way though.

When Trevor is being rambunctious and Brendan needs emergency attention, there are not many places that are safe for Trevor to be. The swing is definitely not a safe place. The jungle exersaucer is the only place I can think of where he can be put down for enough time to take care of things.

Trevor does still really enjoy the swing… but again, in his own way. I laughed tears watching him tonight.

  1. So many cute pictures tonight, and the video is really funny!
Brendan looks cuter every day! They must really be a handful with Trevor being so active. He is silly and cute at the same time!
Looking forward to seeing them in 2 weeks. They have changed so much, but it’s all going in the right direction.
Good luck with 2 nights in a row with no nurse. I hope you get some rest.
Bailey’s picture on FB is funny! Did Trevor get any food in him? 🙂 Too cute!
Wish you could be here for this weekend and the celebration for Shannon and baby on the way.
    We will miss you !
    Love,
    Gramma

  2. As long as Brendan will do his tricks with you, that is all that matters! Better that the therapist is the “bad cop” and you guys get to be the “good cops”. She knows it too, and it’s all about Brendan overcoming that food aversion. Trevor is going to need a bigger baby jail! He will be in his glory when he is big enough to experience bouncy houses!

  3. Heather – are you saying Trevor needs padded baby jail? 🙂
T is definitely going to be a thrill seeker. And Li’l B is going to be the mastermind behind all his brother’s exploits!

I can’t tell you how many of these pictures and videos I come back to over and over again when I am feeling stressed or frustrated, because they make all that go away and I laugh. It’s good that, despite everything you guys are juggling, they can still do that for you too.

  4. Looks like T’s practicing for the rodeo! Ride ’em, bronco!! 🙂 And it’s good to see Brendan so happy. Glad he likes the extra tubes to play with. If you whirl one around in the air it makes an interesting noise, too.

You and Bill are inspiring, Tiffanie. Keep up the positive attitude! Hugs to you both.

  5. 🙂 🙂 ” This is your pilot, we are expecting some mild turbulence, descending into Sky Harbor.
Passengers are asked to remain seated, and keep their seat belts buckled until the plane reaches the terminal” 😮 😮 🙂
