Week 44 – Day 2

Some days are exhausting. Trying to do everything that we did yesterday with only one person managing the two boys is pretty much impossible. Brendan still got lots of chances to work on new skills, but both boys have to get little lessons in sharing Mom.
Trevor has learned that when he cries from his crib, he adds “Mmmmoooommmaaaaaaa!!!!” Mmmoooommm!!!” It is so sweet and sad at the same time and yet I know that if I give in to it, then he has won! He did manage to avoid his afternoon nap today so he went to bed fairly easily tonight.

Keeping Trevor occupied means finding new things for him to look at and hold. In this case a big spoon held him for about eight minutes so I could take care of Brendan.

We put the extension that Gramma bought on the baby jail. It was a definite upgrade! It filled up with toys really fast.

“Come on, you are going to miss lunch!”

Brendan made a big leap today in his food training. I put some of Trevor’s peas on Brendan’s tray. He smooshed them around and liked it! He even put his fingers in his mouth and tasted the peas. He didn’t really eat them off of his fingers, but he didn’t make a face or get mad or gag. It was a real good step in the right direction.

“Hey, bro, am I doing this right?”

“Such an amateur”

Brendan loves Trevor, he is just so amused to see him moving and hear him talking. Trevor is busy formulating his escape plan and figuring out how to sit down! I witnessed him putting his little toes up in the gate like he was going to climb it today too. Trouble!!

  1. Somebody is wearing socks…not on his feet!! Brendan sure is fascinated by Trevor and his antics in baby jail. Looks like I will have my work cut out for me while Brendan is at the hospital and it is just Trevor and me!
I don’t blame Brendan for not wanting to actually EAT peas!! But that is just my personal opinion! I don’t mean to sound redundant, but the boys look better every day! Trevor is so adventurous, and Brendan is watching every move he makes, so when he is ready….!!!!
They are both doing great, and that is because of the hard work, time, and love you put into it day in and day out. You are really doing a fantastic job and I am very impressed and proud of you and Bill for the sacrifices you are making for your precious babies. You will someday reap the rewards of your efforts. You have 2 beautiful little boys already, and they get cuter and smarter by the day! (I am, of course, not at all biased in any way!) 🙂
Hugs and Kisses to you all!

  2. Great pics..Loved the pea eatin Brendan and the jail breaker Trevor. Love seeing them so busy being happy. Your mom is so right — it is because of all the love and special care you and Bill are giving them. They are as blessed as you both are and you are in my prayers daily v

  3. Did pea eating have to be followed with tape changes? Hmmm…mushy peas….taking after his Grampa! One of these days, you will turn your back and then find Trevor sitting on top of a bookshelf or something. Then baby jail will need a roof! Brendan continues to catch up – way to go! Trevor keeps thinking he was a full term baby, doing things that other 10 month olds do. He’s in a hurry to be big!
