Week 44 – Day 4

We started with another early day today. Trevor decided 5am was a good time to start and then he just decided to stay up. Fortunately he took some really good naps today. I even got almost 2hrs of nap in this morning while the boys slept.
It is a good thing because it is going to be a long weekend!

Brendan had a lot of good play time today.
“Hey, what does this thing do?”

HYPNOTIZED

Brendan’s new trick is working well…using the other big toe to scrape the pulse oximeter probe off. It doesn’t read well like this!

Brendan played with “Nutritious Chicken Noodle Dinner” puree today. I am not sure how nutritious it is to tape but he had fun.

There was a little chameleon envy going on

Poor Trevor is so very sensitive! We were just playing a little game and I startled him with too much silly. He goes from laughing to scared cry very quickly.

He is also hilarious though. When is the last time you typed something and put this much of yourself in to it!?

Daddy was sent to baby jail this evening!

Since we have to be up all night anyway, I figured this was the best night to try new food with Trevor. If he has trouble later, I won’t lose any more sleep. He has had pureed chicken before but tonight he got real bits of baked chicken breast and some soft steamed broccoli.

Trevor wanted to pet the broccoli

The first bite was a hard gag, a shudder and a wince. I think it was the texture. He got over it very quickly though and continued to eat the other pieces.

“Yes, Mommy, I ate all my broccoli!”

Sure he did

“Yeah, umm.. boy this chicken sure is good!”

Brendan’s other new trick is that he has decided to operate his own suction machine.

He even has his hand right over the port to initiate the suction. He likes the sound of it slurping up his bubbles and he likes to stick the tip of his tongue on it. Weird baby!

  1. Red…Yellow…and BLUUUUUUEEE! I am envious too. 🙂
Trevor – broccoli goes IN your belly, not ON your belly.
Lots of cute pictures today. Hope you had a good, uneventful evening and that you can get a nap in today!

  2. Trevor eats broccoli! Good for you! Did Daddy interrupt Trevor’s first novel, earning him time in baby jail? Playing with your food is only a step away from actually eating it, so keep schmooing away there Brendan. You need to eat real food to have the energy to maintain all of your devious tape and device removal schemes!

  3. Lots of adorable pictures! Even the crying one is cute. Poor Trevor!
Brendan is very clever to use his “monkey feet” to get his tape off of his toe! He will surely be keeping you on your toes once he is more mobile. Nice to see he is always thinking about those things.
I hope Trevor’s new adventures with dinner didn’t cause him any tummy distress. Didn’t you know that’s how I type on my keyboard?! 🙂
Brendan just keeps looking better and better every day. I don’t know how he could get cuter, but then he does! And Trevor has such expression in his adorable little face. You can see what he is thinking all of the time, very cute!
You said there were going to be a lot of cute pictures to choose from, and you were so right! I don’t know how you keep the blog so short. I’m bringing back my hard drive so I won’t miss one of them…even the ones that didn’t make it to the blog!
See you on Friday! The countdown begins to coming there and surgery.
And since it is the 25th as I write, Happy 10 month Birthday, Brendan and Trevor!! You are both getting so big!
Lots of love, and birthday kisses!
