Year 2 – Week 1 – Day 1 – Happy First Birthday Brendan and Trevor!!!!!!!

Birthday boys!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you might have expected, there are a TON of photos from today. We did not have any big party with other people over, we didn’t really decorate or have any kind of special meal. We just made the boys their birthday cake and had the traditional cake smashing fun. We let them open the couple of presents that they hadn’t already gotten in to.

All three of the boys got their deluxe spa treatment, that is nothing new! Brendan has a cool new singing duck to play with though.

Brendan played with his special Yo Gabba Gabba balloon.

We put all three boys through another photo session, slightly less complicated than the day before. They had to dress up in their coordinating funfetti tie dye shirts!

Cakes are done! They got lemon-lime Jello cakes with cool whip frosting.

We did birthday cake right after lunch today. It is when all of the babies were in the best mood and it gave time for tummies to settle before bed.

Trevor was going to eat the candle first

Brendan wasn’t sure what to make of all the mess!

Trevor loved the mess! He ate way too much cake, and is tossing and turning tonight in bed. He had such a sugar high this afternoon!

Caleb sat at the table and had his own little piece of cake with his big boy fork. He is much more grown up now, no mushing up cake mess!

If the messy pictures were not enough, here is the experience in a five minute long video.

The boys’ new toybox arrived while they were having cake! Trevor was all ready to try it out!

Caleb and Trevor are checking out the last of the wrapped packages

Brendan claims this package

Opening this one takes team effort!

The boys try out their new scooter!

Bill had the day off of work today to celebrate the boys’ birthday. But he took the opportunity to work on a special project for Brendan. He built a custom mount for an oxygen tank to attach to their fancy double jogger stroller. You almost don’t know it is there and it does not interfere with any of the storage areas. It is great!

Once the boys were tucked in to bed, I got a hair cut and had a piece of birthday cake. Time to go to bed! I think I will be hearing from Trevor a few times during the night.

  1. Another visit comes to an end. 🙁 Usually when I leave, I have the next ticket booked, or a good idea of when I’ll return. Not this time, which makes it harder to go.
The boys all had a great time today! It was a nice birthday for Brendan and Trevor, and the day went by so quickly, as did the past year, with all the ups and downs. Even so, Brendan and Trevor have come so far in a year’s time. It was truly a day to celebrate!
It has been a wonderful thing to see Caleb with the other boys. They all got along so well and we had some very amusing moments.
As Bill said,”usually, you are still unpacking, and now you are already leaving!” This is the shortest trip I have had here!
Thank you Bill and Tiffanie for including me, and Erin and Caleb, in this momentous occasion. It was very special and meant a lot to me. I hope with all my heart that the next year will get better and better. You have two special little boys, and I adore them.
I have no room for smuggling this time, as the empty space I had from leaving so many things here for the boys has been taken up with “stuff” for the new little boy coming soon in Pittsburgh. I think I will be doing a lot of traveling this year!
So, Happy Birthday sweet little boys! Gramma loves you very much, and I will miss you.
    Love, Gramma

  2. YEAH!!!!! Happy Birthday, sweet boys!

Simply cannot believe how big they are getting.

After a harrowing first year, Brendan’s smile just warms my heart – and everyone who knows him. He’s such a happy little guy. Looks like he enjoyed the cake frosting immensely.

Congratulations to all of you and here’s to a continually improving year of healthy munchkins and parents.

Love and hugs to you all of you from Brett and I.

  3. Good afternoon from the soon to be blown away East coast!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOYS!!! The pictures and the video are priceless!! Brendan and Trevor may your second year be the best ever!! You certainly have come a long way!! Gramma’s pictures with you say it all, her smiles could not be bigger! Hope Aunt Erin, Gramma, and Caleb’s journey home is safe and uneventful. Special hugs to Mom and Dad for their love and dedication to you two!! You boys have awesome parents!! What a way to start your second year!! Prayers, tons of hugs and much, much love!!! 🙂 🙂

  4. OK let me get the facts straight – – – –
    a. It’s Trevor, not Clint Eastwood.
    b. It’s in Arizona
    c. it’s a “movie”….so I’d call it a “Western” 😉
    Hmmmmmmmmmm Oh ! Right! it’s “A Fist full of CAKE” 🙂 🙂 :):o 🙂
    Loved it !!

  5. Brendan, It WILL be more fun next year. Besides, you’ll be better able to enjoy the “sugar high” 😉 😉 🙂 🙂

( I keep forgetting that once I hit the “enter”, I can’t go back and edit 🙁 )
