Year 2 – Week 3 – Day 5

Brendan and Trevor have a special message to share for Aunt Erin!

I forgot to say ‘Happy Veterans Day’ yesterday, we greatly appreciate everyone who has served especially Bill, the boys’ grandpas, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. All branches of the military are represented by our family. Thanks for your service!

Trevor was up on and off all through the night last night, but then went back to sleep at 6:15am or so and then slept until 8:30am. His schedule was all out of whack and it affected his naps today, but overall he did well. I got to sleep in a bit this morning thanks to Bill covering the last wake up.
I am suspecting that he may be getting cold in the night, his little feet were pretty chilly this morning. So I put him to bed in footie jammies. We will see if it makes a difference.

Brendan had his appointment this morning and that all went well. Just a change in formula to something more nutritionally appropriate for his age. His growth is right on track! Since he is using his big boy car seat now, he also had to sit in the whale stroller without the clip in seat. He rode in the front so he could see.

“Don’t worry, Jacque. We got this.”

There is no Trevor today. He stayed home with Dad because he was off work today. Just Brendan, captain of his ship and all of his gear riding in the back.

He got bored waiting

Brendan had an outing so while he still had a nurse, we took Trevor out too. We had a gift card so we went to lunch. Trevor sat in a restaurant high chair for the first time. He behaved pretty well considering he was so tired.

Trevor tried bites of all kinds of things at lunch. He liked enchiladas with either chicken, spinach or beef, he liked papas con chile, refried beans, and he LOVED taco meat. I didn’t let him have much, just tastes. He doesn’t seem to mind spicy at all.

He is definitely my baby, he also likes sour/tart. I let him have a lemon wedge and he was just going to eat it up. No sour face.
I am not sure if he finally got hit by sour and got mad, or if he accidentally squeezed it and got his eye a little. After the end of this video, he wanted the lemon right back to chew on!

As soon as we got to the car, he was out cold

He took a long nap this afternoon, I hope he sleeps better tonight.

Brendan wanted to stay up late tonight. He was all kinds of silly and just wanted to play. I even got out his baby bucket swing which he loved. It was funny to see how big he was in it.
He had a blast.

Then I told him that he was too big for it and that it was time to give it to a baby to use.

Although it was a bit of an accident last week, we have discovered that Brendan can maintain perfect numbers with slightly less oxygen. He has been doing great on 2 liters of flow instead of 3. We weren’t going to wean oxygen for a while, but he really is taking it like there was no change at all. Go Brendan!

Brendan and Trevor are rooting for their cousin-to-be today. As of today, he is 32 weeks and 2 days along, just like my boys were when they were born. Keep cooking little cousin!

  1. Trevor, if Gramma ate what you had for lunch, I wouldn’t sleep at all!! I hope you sleep well tonight, so Mommy can sleep, too.
Brendan, you are getting to be such a big boy! From riding in your stroller seat in the front without a carseat, to barely fitting in your bucket swing, and needing less supplemental oxygen… YAY, Brendan!! 🙂
Cute video of lemon wedge Trevor! Mommy could manage them without a sour face, too! Not me!!
Hope you all have a good night with lots of sleep.
    Love and hugs and kisses,
    Gramma

  2. Yep, we were saying that yesterday was “B’n’T Day,” and we’re happy that our little man made it past that milestone.

Trevor, I’m with you, man: spicy food is where it’s at! And, do my eyes deceive me, or were you at Abuelo’s?

Brendan, great work on your wean! You’re getting there, Little Dude!

  3. Your cousin must have heard you cheering him on, because he was having a party all day!! He couldn’t have been born yesterday though because that is Aunt Erin’s birthday! (No arriving on Aunt Heather’s birthday either!!! Still too early!).

I’m with Trevor – LOVE lemon, the more tart and sour the better! Don’t love lemon so much in the eye though.

    Go Li’l B go! You’re a strong little man.
