Year 2 – Week 4 – Day 5

Well I am back to feeling like I did last week: a bit of a lingering cough and otherwise I am fine. Trevor is still stuffy and really really hurting from his teeth. Bill is tired but better. Brendan, who was doing the best of us all, decided he felt left out and he ended up having an allergic reaction to his new formula. The little dots that I thought was heat rash spread across his whole face and body and he got congested and his eyes were puffy. We put him back on his infant formula and have been doing Benadryl and breathing treatments. Trevor and I went back to the GI doctor’s office to pick up samples of other types of formula so that we can find something that works. Thanks, Bailey, for the ride along so that sleeping Trevor didn’t have to get out of his car seat and come in for all of 30 seconds. He needed that nap!

Brendan has been spending time in his pack ‘n’ play with the high bassinet setting while his nurse heals from her shoulder injury. It makes him much more easy to reach, and he really likes sitting up high and looking down upon his kingdom.

Brendan lets Trevor come in to play.

But he has to lay down the rules, he is the big brother.

The boys were thrilled to get to type

Then they get a little crazy

The perfect shirt for today

It took tylenol and advil and orajel to get through today. Orajel is a miracle and helps Trevor get through meals. I wish it lasted longer.

I wish there was more I could do to make him feel better. He is just so frustrated and wants help. Only time will help now. We all need to get healthy!

  1. I love Brendan’s “I’m the boss of this kingdom and don’t you all forget it” look it is so precious.

It hurts to see poor Trevor hurting from his teeth. This is just a hard time for the little guy. Hope you all get feeling better again soon. v

  2. Brendan looks like he is in a parade and the king of all he surveys. Poor Trevor, when Beth was teething I use to put water in the plug (as we called it) and freeze it and she would just chew on it to take some of the pain away. He just looks so unhappy and like it even hurts to eat, poor baby.

  3. Poor boys and parents! Never thought that a new formula might cause the rash. And poor Trevor trying to push through new teeth. I hope the good days come back!
