Year 2 – Week 10 – Day 5

The last day of 2012! I wish I could say that we were more excited about this New Year’s Eve, but it really is just another day. There is no magical change that will take place overnight. Other than being the end of a tax year, the changing of the numbers on the calendar don’t mean very much in our journey.
Tonight we won’t be going anywhere or seeing anyone or drinking anything fizzy or spirited. When we wake up in the morning, it will be all the same. At least we won’t have hangovers to deal with!

As far as lengths of time go, the year of 2012 was full of changes. Last January 1st, we could not even have dreamt of the journey that was ahead of us. I hope that next December 31st, I can look back in disbelief over the progress that we have made.

We put away our Christmas tree and everything yesterday, the whole holiday season comes to a close but the whole thing was kind of a blur and I can’t believe it is over!

So today, we just went on about our daily rigor. Trevor was all full of spazz this morning. So that Brendan could take his nap, I loaded up Trevor and took him to the park.

He really likes to swing even though the pictures don’t show it!

He was amazed by the floor of this equipment.

I thought he might pull up on these bars, but instead he fell in love with the sand

And yes, he tried to eat it.

He was blown away by the flock of ducks

Brendan stayed at home, but he still had a pretty good day. He took two decent naps today which is a good thing. Of course, he is awake now being a troublemaker. He liked playing puzzles with Daddy this evening.

We made a second adjustment to his doses today, so far no real signs of withdrawal but it is just the beginning.

It looks like cousin-to-be will have a January birthday. We hope that everything goes well with his imminent delivery. Best wishes to all our friends and family. Stay safe tonight!

  1. Happy New Year!! We have less than 2 hours to go as I write this.

The pictures of Trevor at the park are adorable! When he is outside, he has the bluest eyes! He looks so much older in his little lumberjack coat. He’s turning into a little boy instead of a baby!
Brendan looks as though he was having fun with Daddy. I’m so glad to hear that so far he is having no major side effects from his change in medicine. I hope it keeps on that way. Go Brendan!
What a year it has been!! May 2013 be a year filled with good things for everyone.
Sending love and kisses to you all.

  2. Happy New Year from this end. Both ofthe boys have changed so much in the last year, they have grown and become funnier than ever, thanks so much for your daily updates.

  3. ” And yes, he tried to eat it. ”
😮 🙂 Trevor, “True Grit” is a far better movie, than it is a “snack” 😉 😉 🙂
Brendan, thinking of you, and hoping your latest “change in medicine” goes smoothly, and easily.
2013… 😮 It was “way back” in 1968, that 2001 “A Space Odyssey” was all the “rage”, and it’s now 2013 and 2001 is a dozen years ago. Yes, sometimes the “creeping of time”, feels more like Warp 9 ! 😮
Stay strong boys, it’s a new year, and there’s a whole lot of living, and learning to do. If I could have one wish for you, it would be that you never tire of learning. It’s what keeps the journey exciting. Happy New Year! 🙂 🙂 🙂
