Year 2 – Week 15 – Day 2

It was just me and the boys this morning while Bill worked, but they were good to me. Brendan was taking measurements in the jungle, maybe he plans to hang curtains?

Brendan had speech therapy today. He wasn’t upset, but he definitely was giving the therapist the “I am not interested” vibe. He would not make eye contact or give her any smiles. He just played as little as possible. Meanwhile, Trevor was just laid back, havin’ a snack.

Brendan was playful and happy with us this afternoon. He is always excited when Bill is done working and comes to play.

Trevor helps with photography, I don’t know how I would do it without him!

Trevor gets wound up, and “goes crazy!”

Now that Brendan is starting to get past his withdrawal, we have to move back to working more on his PMV valve for speaking. We have given him a break because he hates it so much. It is hard on him and all of us having to push him through this. I took some video today, but it is sad to watch.
(Bill blowing on Brendan is just a “trick” to try to get him to inhale and not hold his breath)

This video of Trevor makes me laugh tears and I had to watch it many times, especially the part right after he tries to pull his bib off. He cracks me up.

Brendan is sleeping better at night and woke up with smiles. He took one nice long nap today. It could be a good pattern to fall into. I didn’t get the break like I did yesterday but for a Friday, it was all good.

  1. I am so proud of Brendan and how well he handles all of the changes he has to push through. You are so right that it is sad to watch how upset he is to use his PMV, but he is so happy and proud after he does it! He will get there, and I will be so happy to be able to see the progress he makes as it happens. A big “YAY Brendan!!!!” From Gramma.
Trevor, you are so silly copying what “Brendan says”! You are full of personality when you are trying to pull off your bib! You go from funny to determined to thinking to planning, and I love the little finger-pointing! It was a great video! 🙂
Every day there is something new and different, and to look forward to.
Lots of love to 2 beautiful little boys, and to 2 very devoted amazing parents,
    Gramma

  2. The boys are so funny, Brendon is so hard to watch doing his therapy but Trevor has the whole thing down pat, he makes me laugh in his high chair, what a great personality. You two are doing such a fanatic job as parents.

  3. ” Brendan was taking measurements in the jungle, maybe he plans to hang curtains? ” ————- 🙂 🙂 I think it’s more like He’s figuring…………

Hmmmmm, That arc length is about 32″, and I can get that monkey over the top and on the other side in about a quarter of a second – – – – That figures out to be about 128″ every second – – 460,800″ in an hour – – – divide that by 12, and that’s 38,400′ in one hour, divide that by 5280————– That is 7.27272727 MILES PER HOUR !!!!! 😉 🙂
    MAN !!! That’s one fast monkey !!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 😮

    OK, He hasn’t learned all that yet………………but I believe he will. 🙂 🙂 😮 😉
Loved the videos…Trevor, What does Brendan say? 🙂
