Year 2 – Week 15 – Day 5

Are we on Monday again already? It was a busy day but it all went OK. Brendan is most definitely dealing with sensitivity to bright light and loud sounds. I turned on his helicopter toy for the first time in weeks and he cried! It used to be one of his top favorites! It was just loud.

I got delayed on some things I wanted to do today so at the end of the day, I went shopping too late. I came home and was trying to put away groceries, feed Trevor, and cook for us all at the same time. I got Trevor to bed and still had to give Brendan a bath. Now Brendan is wide awake and refusing to relax and go to sleep! He doesn’t want Bill to go to bed.

It was a good day of play for the most part. We seem to have a little problem with the workbench. This little thing pops out and knocks the tools off the hangers!

Brendan was making me a wooden train whistle latte.

“Thank you all for coming today, let’s get started!”

Brobee is not a very good listener.

Trevor was getting ready to go to the store.

“If Gramma were here, she would buy these for me!!”

One of Trevor’s first real words that he applies properly (Other than mama, dada, dog, uh-oh, outside, mailman, & Brendan) is “apple”. He points at the fruit basket on the kitchen counter and says it over and over. He wants me to give him an apple to bite on, but he takes big bites out of it! He likes the Granny Smith ones the best.

This isn’t the best example, he says it better. But it is still cute!

  1. So, first question, did Trevor get his “Cotton Tails”? 🙂 I see that he needed a hammer to eat his Cheerios today!
I love the video! It is so cute when babies start to say real words, or their version of real words.
Brendan looks so cute, and so serious and amused at the same time when he plays. I’d love to know what he’s thinking with all of that concentration. The captions are great in all of the pictures.
It looks like a little worm pushing the tools off of the hooks! That will probably be a never ending game of “you put them on, Trevor pops them off”!
I hope Brendan adjusts to all of his over sensitivity to light and sound and touch very soon, so he can go back to loving all of the craziness he used to love.
    Lots of love, Gramma. XXXX

  2. Kayla wondered about Trevor needing a hammer to eat Cheerios! We have learned that baby toy hammers make excellent kitchen tools for thing like crushing peanuts for pad thai or smashing Oreos for cookie crumbs. Trevor is a sous chef in training! Brendan was holding court for sure. Probably lecturing the assembled crew on the fine art of green bean eating! Love the baby words! Did Uncle Jon eat all of your cotton tails?

  3. Brendan does such a great job entertaining his friends and Trevor is talking so well, he has such a cute expression on his face when he is doing it. The finger in the whole on the work bench is really funny.
