Year 2 – Week 17 – Day 2

Some days the boys just wear me down. The whining, tantrums, climbing, falling, smacking, spilling, pulling, typing, breaking, blurping, drooling and gagging just chip away at my calm. I try very hard not to snap and yell at them even though I sure do feel like it sometimes.

I didn’t take any good pictures today but I did capture a video that makes me laugh. I don’t know what Trevor says to Brendan, but it is sure hilarious. I think he wanted Brendan to cover for him while he tried to escape under the tool box.

Trevor’s new word is “car”. He uses it right too. He like to go outside and see cars and then makes a car sound. Bill walked him past the neighbor’s house and back while I gave Brendan a bath tonight, so hopefully he is worn out and sleeps well. He tossed and turned so much last night, maybe that is why he was so cranky today!

  1. I’m so sorry to hear that you had a rough day. The boys were adorable this morning when we video chatted, I miss them so much, but it must get to be very hard for you when one or both is cranky or tired. I wish I could help you on days like that.
The video you captured is priceless! It is worth all the pictures that you feel you didn’t get taken today. It is so cute, and you can see the relationship between the boys growing all the time. I wish we knew what Trevor was saying, Brendan thought it was funny!
Here’s wishing for a better tomorrow with good naps, better moods, and happy babies.
    Love to you all,
    Gramma

  2. Uh, nice tapping on the head, Trev! Apparently, Brendan thinks this is quite funny.

I absolutely love seeing them interact. Soon enough they’ll be sharing all kinds of secrets and troublemaker cover stories.

Hang in there…we are all with you, Tiff, and you have the right to feel like you just want to yell at the top of your lungs every once in a while just to get it out!! I simply call that therapy, personally. Besides, it’s not them as much as it is all the stress and pressure that you guys are under just keeping our little punkin on a good and healthy path. Can’t wait to give you a support hug when I am there with Beth this weekend. 🙂

  3. Trevor is so precious when he sweet when he squats down to talk to Brendan. Sorry to hear you are so stressed and no real relief in sight. Trevor is walking so well, he really look a lot like Bill did as a baby.

  4. I read Kieran the part about being cranky and he said, “Don’t mind if I do”.
The boys are already developing their “twin language”. 🙂 It’s awesome to see them interacting more and more.
Sometimes yelling is okay, and WANTING to is always okay! Any parent who denies ever yelling at their kids is lying! A friend once said to us that being good at parenting is just DOING it every day, and I think there’s a lot of truth to that.

  5. The nice thing about days is that they end and start over.

Kevin says the boys sound like Jawas. Anyone who says that twins don’t have their own language just needs to look at that video! I think Trevor was being a little bossy there, that head patting thing looked like a “It’s OK. You won’t get in any trouble. I’m just going to sneak on over here…..”
