Year 2 – Week 19 – Day 2

I have to say that my little boys were little sweethearts this morning. We had a good day with only a little bit of meltdown in the afternoon. We all worked hard but we had lots of fun. Brendan had a tremendous day of working out and practicing. I made him focus on crawling and his transitions from sit to tummy time and back. He also did some monster tummy pivoting like he has never done before.

Since I was alone, I had to give Trevor his morning bath with Brendan’s tub in the living room. He loved it, he just loves water. The trouble with greasing a baby up with baby lotion after a bath is that they are very slippery. This little wiggle-worm got away from me and decided to run trucks.

We worked on lots of puzzle time this morning

Usually you have to tell a kid to get his elbows off the table.

When Speech Therapy showed up, Brendan was going to pull his big meltdown again. But then Trevor was super-interested in the toys that she brought with her and Brendan decided he had better be interested too. Then he had a great session.

The therapist says that for someone that has never eaten by mouth, he has very good lip and tongue coordination and motor skills. Going forward his therapy will be less about exercises and the focus will be on eating real food, trying new tastes and textures.

During his free-time off the feeding pump, Brendan got to explore different parts of the room. He LOVED playing with the toolbench and putting things in the shelves and pulling things down from the top.

Trevor just was go go go as usual!

So I am ready to fall over, but it was a good Friday!

  1. So happy to hear you and the the boys had a good day.
You have a “streaker” in your living room! Oh, to feel so uninhibited!
Brendan is doing fantastic! It’s nice that he can get around so much better and play with the tools and workbench, too.
They sure looked busy with their puzzles. With everything they get to do in a day, no wonder you’re exhausted!
    Lots of love ,
    Gramma

  2. :o” Usually you have to tell a kid to get his elbows off the table ” 🙂 😮
I took one look at Brendan’s “new lotus position”, and said “ouch !!!!”
I do have to admit that, 😉 It really is a “soleful” look :0 😉
A big Yay Brendan, for such a good “speech therapy session !! 🙂 🙂

Trevor, I remember a song that you should sing when “running the trucks”
    – – “and they call him the streak, , Boogity Boogity: 🙂 🙂 🙂

  3. It is so good to see the little streaker having fun, and Brendan getting involved in work bench! They are getting so big, and we can’t wait to see them this summer!

  4. Go Brendan go! If you were here, I’d give you some of the chocolate cake we made to try (because I think your Mommy and Daddy really need you to be even MORE silly).

Go Trevor, the slippery streaker. He’s like a little greased piglet. 🙂
