This was one of those days where I just wanted to go back to bed and let the monkeys run the zoo. I just didn’t have the patience or the energy, and it was just typical antics today. We had speech therapy and an Early Intervention evaluation today (at the same time) while I was trying to make lunch for Trevor. Once I get flustered, it is hard to recover.
The pictures, of course, make the day look easy!

Brendan says, “I am outta here!”

These diaper boxes are on the couch to keep Trevor off of it. It worked for a little while and helped ease some of the stress of the day. It was good while it lasted.

This is why I can’t let him out of my sight. He knows how to move things to use to get on other things.

Brendan put his thumbs in this today and it turned in to a Chinese Finger Trap. The more he pulled his hands apart, the more the thumbs were stuck. He had to just pull straight down to get them out.

This is my newest chore and the price for Brendan’s mobility. He is getting faster and stronger.

“Trevor was over here tying knots, I swear!”

4:30-5:30PM is the crabbing hour. Guaranteed. Every night.

Trevor is mad because I blocked the side that he can climb up with the recliner. He wants my help but Brendan tries to come to his rescue instead. Pretty soon, they will be helping each other get it to trouble!
We have big plans tomorrow and will be getting up extra early. I hope for a better day than today!

Look at Brendan go!!! I can’t believe the video! He is really getting around faster now. You can see the wheels turning when he was on his mission to get to Trevor. It almost looked as though he was going to pull up on the chair! Good job, Brendan! 🙂
Tiffanie, this might be a good time to remind you of the time I found you sitting in the middle of the kitchen table, you were about Trevor’s age, and you loved to climb up on everything! You could figure out a way to arrange things, and stack things, and move stuff to get where you were going. You were fearless!
Good luck with your special plans for tomorrow…don’t forget your wallet! 🙂 Hope all goes well and you have some fun. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s blog.
Give those babies hugs and kisses, and lots of love from,
Gramma
This is such a great video. I love watching Trevor try to figure these things out, as your Mom said, you can just see the wheels turning in Trevor and Brendan! Brendan is doing so great and coming along so fast. It was only a short time when he went a few inches, now look at him! Have fun tomorrow in whatever your adventure is.
It is clear that you have a couple of sharp little boys there! Which just makes them all the more of a handful as they are both becoming super mobile. Their devious little problem solving brains are figuring out everything as they go. And as frustrating as it is, that is a good thing. They are learning and growing! I do firmly believe that 4:30-5:30PM IS the Crabby Hour! That was true for both girls, almost every day. I think it is just that time of day where their brains are overwhelmed by all of the day’s input, they are getting close enough to dinner to be a little hungry, and far enough from whatever nap (or lack thereof – I’m talking to you Trevor), to need some quiet time. Geez – even I am crabby at about 5PM for the very same reasons! We send you lots of strength and love and encouragement! Come summer, we’ll see if Kayla’s dog whispering skills and Ashley’s Caleb whispering skills can pass the miniBaT test!
