Year 2 – Week 38 – Day 5

There wasn’t a whole lot that was special about the day. It was a Monday which means no nurse and Bill at work (and usually very busy). I didn’t take many pictures, and the ones I did get were fairly dull.

The boys were pretty good

And then things got crazy!

We had a little microburst style storm that blew in with huge wind gusts and fierce rain. Then we lost power for about an hour and a half. Trevor had to eat dinner in the dark

He had to take a bath with a lantern. I tried to put Brendan in the tub and he was NOT happy about it. He got a 30-second scrub while screaming and then he was passed back to Bill.

The house got hot REALLY fast. Trevor stayed cool by playing in the shower with cool water.

Trevor loved running around with the cool pull-apart lantern

I was trying to take funny long exposure shots of Trevor running up and down the hall with his light. Instead of funny, I got this creepy photo!

The power came on just in time to put Trevor to bed and everything with us is fine. Our flag pole was ripped off the front of the house and blew to the neighbor’s yard. Our other neighbor’s little shed in the backyard had the roofing ripped off of it. There are tree limbs and debris everywhere and big puddles in the streets. The rain lasted all of 12 minutes, if that. The sun was back out and shining soon after the rain stopped.

The biggest damage we sustained – the electrical storm fried our wireless internet router! It might actually be a good thing because I am hooked up directly to my cable modem with an ethernet cord and my internet connection speed is about 100 times faster than our wireless. The modem got upgraded just a few months ago, but the router is 6 years old or more. We might really benefit from an upgrade.
No baby spy cams tonight, that is weird. We will have to get our wireless back up quick!

  1. Wow that was some storm! That creepy photo looks like something that one of those paranormal experts would trot out as proof of the afterlife. Are you sure your house isn’t haunted? That might explain some of the naughties…Hope you’re able to find a nice router and get your spy network up and running soon.

  2. Good Morning from the East Coast!! Finally able to download videos!! Nasty little storm that passed by! Relieved that you are all OK. 🙂 Just loved seeing Trevor at the gym! He really enjoyed himself! And the horn video is sooo cute! We are having AZ weather here, 102 yesterday!! Cousin Michael had baseball camp and ended up vomiting due to heat….better later!! Uncle Rich went to his surgeon yesterday…healing well…2 more weeks. then swimming and jet skiing, and planning trips!! Grand Canyon is our next bucket list item….who lives near there??? We are looking forward to meeting Brendan and Trevor…all planning is still thought processes, but definitely in the forefront!! Hoping that Brendan continues to do well with his trach cap and sleeps through the night for you!! Trevor, you are growing up so fast….good job mentoring your brother!!! Prayers, hugs and love!!! 🙂

  3. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Hmmmmm, ” proof of the afterlife ” 🙂 🙂 🙂
    Wait ! could it be ?? – – – – – – the spirit of Rovert !!!!- – – briefly trapped in this world by the energy of that storm !? 😉 😉
Microburst…..sure looked more like “Burst”, than “Micro”. That was a LOT of energy !

  4. All the pictures and videos are great! So happy to hear how well Brendan is doing with his trach capped.
We are doing well on our mission to pack up the condo. 🙁 Tomorrow I’ll put it on the market officially.

    Lots of love and hugs,
