Year 2 – Week 40 – Day 2

Today was all about recovery for everyone. Bill had a busy day at work, Trevor ran with me to the pharmacy to make sure we had everything for Brendan. I didn’t even realize until I was loading Trevor in the shopping cart that I had driven there in my house slippers. When the boys napped, I took a nap. I didn’t think to take many pictures.
We had a meeting with the home nursing company to do paperwork, we had new medicines to schedule, and cleaning up to do. But we tried to keep it low key.
The boys’ new favorite thing to watch while we are busy is Dumbo.

Brendan still needs breathing treatments, extra oxygen, and more suctioning, but he still impresses me very much with how well he is doing today. He did most of his normal play time activities, like climbing in to the box of tools

Trevor is adding floaties to Bill’s bottle of water

This has been a rough spell and leaves our heads spinning a bit. We will just continue to try to do the best for the boys and find ways to enjoy the journey.

  1. I’m so glad you’re all home and on the road to healing. 🙂 Low key is good.
Love and hugs to everyone. Get better and stay well.

  2. Good Morning from the east coast!! I agree with Gramma, low key is good. I keep looking for that “magic wand” to wave over your family and poof….no more illness, no more hospitals! Well, in the meantime, while I keep searching for that, hang in there!! Your boys have amazing parents and you will get them and yourselves through this journey. Sometimes it will feel as though you are going in reverse, but from our perspective you are always going forward!! It is OK to be tired and feel tired and just kind of stop, in order to regroup….and then you will more clearly see the next step forward to continue with the incredible loving and caring you unselfishly give for your family!!! Prayers, hugs and lots of love!! 🙂

  3. Laxy days are good for the health and the soul, especially with all that has been going on this week. Brendan’s sheer willpower never ceases to amaze me! Children in general possess amazing ability to bounce back from so much. Brendan is the ultimate kid Super Ball!
