No more waiting for the garbage truck to come to us. We went green truck hunting this morning. We did a 2.1 mile walk in the neighborhood and success!

We caught the truck doing small cul-de-sacs so we could park and watch it for a while. When we were trying to get out of the house this morning (before it got hot), I remembered that the mosquitoes have been really bad since we had all that rain and standing water. I grabbed two pairs of lightweight pajama pants and two pairs of socks so that they would be covered from bugs and sun.

Brendan’s final outfit was….bold

We picked up some rocks on our walk so that Trevor had something for in his dump truck he loves.

I ran Brendan up and down the yard in the jeep, helped him learn to climb a ladder, and watched him go up the slide backwards. But he really just wanted to swing all day. We were outside most of the day!

I cut some windows in the box fort. Trevor was throwing rocks in, then going in the fort and throwing them back out.

Brendan impressed his OT with a new trick today. He can stand up all by himself in the middle of the room with nothing to grab on to. He is wobbly and doesn’t succeed every time, but he shocked us all with it. He LOVES to practice walking and is getting more stable every day. He sees his PT tomorrow, maybe she will have some tips for him.

What a great idea to go garbage truck stalking, and practice for the Hope Walk all at the same time!
Yea, Brendan was a fashion faux pas, but a cute one anyway! It’s so nice that you could be outside. Mosquitos!! I thought you didn’t have mosquitos in AZ! We are the ones that have to stay inside because of those pesky things. 🙂
It sure sounds like Brendan is determined to get walking. That’s a great step forward standing up in the middle of the room. Go Brendan!
Trevor is collecting rocks on his walk the way that Kayla and Ashkey would collect pine cones. We lined them up on the deck one day after we had bags full of them, and we had 1,000 pine cones, all shapes, sizes, and kinds. We did make some really cute Christmas ornaments out of them!
Sounds like another good day and that’s great to hear. 🙂
Lots of love and hugs,
Gramma xxxx
Yea Brendan standing alone by yourself, it was probably helped by the outfit you were wearing, lovely.
The trip to find garbage trucks was a great idea and successful trip, bet both boys were thrilled.
The fort is wonderful, isn’t it amazing how sometime the box is more fun than the gift, not in this case because as they grow there will probably be many fights over the wonderful car. Trevor’s cute face in the window of the fort is so cute.
