Year 3 – Week 1 – Day 1 – Happy 2nd Birthday!!!

TWO!!! TWO!!! My two are two! It is hard to believe! Happy Birthday to my sweet little boys!

I have a literal explosion of cake pictures, I will get right to it! I baked cakes up this morning while Trevor was eating breakfast. When the boys napped, it was time for some cake-sculpting! First Trevor’s cake, is anyone surprised?

Brendan got an owl from his all-time favorite “Peek-a-boo Forest” book

Get ready..

Get set..

Smash! Trevor was very excited. He said “ZZZZZ Truck! OOOHH!” (which is what he calls the garbage truck)

I think Brendan was less than excited

“No more OOOWWWWLL CAAAAAKE!!!!”

Bye bye owl

To finish off the cake, Bill thought he would give Trevor a wooden mallet!

Brendan thought the hammering was hilarious and wanted the mallet, until he got the mallet

If the pictures were not enough, you can witness all of the fun and excitement in this 8.5 minute video!

Making these cakes was so much fun, I can’t wait until the boys are old enough to come up with their own ideas and help make them. The day was a smashing success and everyone is totally wiped out!!

Happy happy birthday, sleeping boys!

  1. Happy Birthday, Brendan and Trevor!! It was a fun celebration and I’m so happy that I could be a part of it again with you this year. I don’t know how it was possible to narrow down the gazillion pictures that were taken today! Each one was cuter than the next!
Lots and lots of birthday love,
    Gramma xxxx

  2. A smashing success, indeed. The cakes turned out SO cute!!! Trevor sure went to town; lol, that garbage truck didn’t stand a chance. Neither did poor owl, for that matter. Happy “Big 2” Birthday, boys!

  3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! The cakes were too cute. I hope it was a very very happy birthday. I can’t believe it has been a year since Caleb and I were there celebrating their first birthday. Sending lots of love from Aunt Erin, Uncle Jules, and Caleb!

  4. Good Morning and Happy Birthday from the East Coast!! WOW, you all had a blast!! I watched the video two times, once for Trevor and once for Brendan!! It felt as though we were there!! Thank you!!!! Just love how “dainty” Brendan is…just waiting for the day when he realizes that cake is awesome!! Trevor, simply adorable…he became one with his cake!! So much love and talent went into making them! I’ll put in an order for mine!! Mostly, so happy for all of you that the boys celebrated their birthdays at home, happy and healthy!!! Prayers, love and many hugs!! 🙂 🙂

  5. Happy two to both of you.
The cakes are wonderful, so lomg to make so quickly destroyed but so very lovely. Tif, you just have more talent than one person should have.
The pictures and video are all wonderful and it feels like I was at the party. The clean up must have been forever.
Thanks for sharing the big party.

  6. Poor dump truck. It didn’t stand a chance once the mallet came out. I love how Trevor painted the fridge with it too. Those were the cutest cakes ever, for the cutest twinsters ever!

  7. I loved the cake play! Both your 2 year olds seemed to enjoy it – one more than the other, but both! Such cute cakes! Wishing a healthy and happy year for Brendan and Trevor!
