Year 3 – Week 1 – Day 5

I can’t believe that Gramma’s two-week visit is coming to an end. It went by in a flash, and yet if we think about everything that we have done, it was a long couple of weeks! Of course the list we had in our heads about “things we would like to do when Gramma is here to help” didn’t really get anything crossed off of it. There were big events like the HopeWalk, portraits, and the birthday madness!!

The boys had a Target gift card to spend, so we took Gramma on the last shopping outing this morning.

He got to get down from the shopping cart in order to pick out what he wanted to get.

“How does this machine work?”

It was a gorgeous day, so we had “picnic” lunch out on the patio to wait for the garbage truck

Trevor finished eating and the truck was still not on our street. He had to run around in the bed of Bill’s truck to wait. He LOVED playing in the truck. (now we started something)

His hands got “deedirt” (Trevorese for dirty)

Trevor picked out a farm house from Target this morning. He loves “mooo cowww” and roosters.

Brendan had to help Gramma get checked in for her flight

Brendan was feeling super cuddly and wanted lots of hugs. He had a rough morning with his g-tube button getting pulled out, but he had a good day once he recovered.

The whole family got haircuts today. Gramma cut my hair out on the patio in the sun, then I trimmed her hair too. Then she cut Trevor’s hair, trimmed Brendan’s duck tail of weird mullet hair, and then trimmed up Bill’s hair too! Everyone looks spiffy!

We have to go to the airport first thing in the morning! At 10:30pm, Brendan is getting extra cuddles and rocking and his favorite video. Brendan is stalling because he doesn’t want to go to sleep, Gramma is stalling because she doesn’t want to pack!

  1. This is always a night I don’t look forward to…packing…and rocking little boys to sleep for the last time this visit. 🙁 I don’t want to put them down!
It has been a very busy and fleeting two weeks! We crammed a lot of things into the time we had, but there’s always more we could find to do. I am so happy to have been able to be here for the birthday celebrations.
I want to thank Tiffanie and Bill for always making me feel so welcome and appreciated. This is like my “home away from home”. I will have 11 round trips to AZ completed tomorrow, just in the past two years!
I love you all so very much!
    Gramma

  2. So sorry Gramma has to go home hope she will be able to return soon.
Trevor’s shopping trip to Target was so cute, he looks so intent picking out his gift but in the seems to love it. Brendan is such a cuddler, how nice. You all must feel so much better after your hair cuts and look great.

  3. Good Morning from the East Coast!! Hoping that you found time to celebrate your Anniversary, Tiff and Bill!! Big hugs!! Viewing this blog brought out a realization…yes, you must really check Gramma’s luggage and “count heads” before she boards her plane!!! So happy for all of you that Gramma’s visit was filled with good times…the boys will certainly miss her!! Just loved Trevor’s face, waiting for his garbage truck and Brendan’s cuddles with Gramma!! Safe journey Gramma! Prayers, hugs and love!! 🙂

  4. Brendan, I saw the photo of you on Gramma’s shoulder, being cuddled, and thought, the list of people, who, at your age, have been cuddled on that shoulder, is long. You are in pretty important company…..
Your brother, your cousins Kayla, Ashley, Caleb, Kieran, Your Mother, Aunt Heather, Aunt Shannon, Aunt Erin. 🙂 🙂 🙂
    Pretty important company indeed ! 😉 🙂
As I am writing this, Gramma should be on her way to the airport, or just arriving there. Safe Home.
