Year 3 – Week 2 – Day 2

I have a major junk food hangover today. Bill and I are serious about getting control of our health and our new plan started yesterday. After two years of just trying to get by and a month of celebrations with food, indulgences of food, and too much Halloween candy, we are setting goals and eating right. It has to happen.
If you have never experienced the crash of too much sugar and junk for too long followed by a few days of healthy eating, you are lucky. Cravings were not bad, but emotions were all over the place. I just wanted the garbage truck to come by so I could just run out and jump in it and have it carry me away.

I think Trevor is feeling the same thing. He recently had so much ice cream, candy, cake, treats, and frozen coke, he has to ‘detox’ too. He was an emotional wreck all day! I guess when the whole family is a wreck, Brendan decided he was in a bad mood too.

It made for a long, exhausting day with lots of crying by all.

The only thing that gets us through is knowing that it is temporary and that it is worth it.

  1. I hardly know what to say. I am so very sorry to hear you’ve had such a bad day. It breaks my heart to see the boys crying, and it’s not the cute drama crying with the adorable little faces. I can only imagine how you must have felt, especially if that’s what you wanted to do, too. I feel really helpless being so far away.
I hope that this is short-lived and everyone will feel better soon. I wish I could scoop up a little boy or two, do some rocking and reading, and give some big hugs to you, too. Really, I wish I could hop back on a plane and come back and help. 🙁
I hope you have a nice day tomorrow for your walk.
I love you all very much.
    Lots of hugs,
    Gramma xxxx

  2. Oh My, good morning from the east coast! 🙁 The ‘no empty carbs” crash can be brutal!! Hang in there, it is short term, we promise!! 🙂 Eat a little protein, veggies every few hours…might help a little?? Once that pounding headache resolves you’ll know you are at the finish line!! Feel so bad for all of you!!!! But you are right, it will be worth it!! Hoping by the time you read this that you are over the hurdles and back to smiles!! Prayers, giant hugs and lots of love!! 🙂
