Year 3 – Week 3 – Day 4

Today was a mix of stress, joy, anger, excitement, more stress, and then appreciation. I am still burning up about my laptop and the cost of such a trivial error. I am worried about my data and whether or not I backed up enough.
We had to take both boys for bloodwork today and I was DREADING it. It is just part of their 2yr checkup but we had to go to a lab. It was difficult and sad but both boys did a wonderful job and it was over quickly.
No matter how tense and agitated or angry I felt today, I had to step back and look at the big picture and realize how privileged we are. The fact that we have a second new laptop in the house for me to borrow for this blog means that we have a lot to be grateful for.
The holiday today is a reminder to appreciate what we have and why we have it. We remember everyone who has sacrificed, whether it be their time, health, families, or lives, so that we can live so well that we only have to be hot about busted gadgets and expensive toys. Thank you to all who have served or are serving.

I am truly happy that my family is healthy today, and the rest is all material.

Outside of that, we had a very special day today. Something strange was happening in Trevor’s room! Crazy boys on the loose!

UH-OH!! Someone’s crib just transformed in to a daybed!

Trevor is a tumbler in his sleep, so for now, I took this other crib mattress and put it on the floor where he might fall out.

Trevor kept standing right on the edge of the bed, looking at me and saying “I’ma fall!”

Then about 100 times, he “practiced” what it would be like to fall out of bed!! I was cracking up.

He loves it

He quickly got better at jumping out of bed

He had to get familiar with every means of getting in to bed

So far, AMAZING! He took a nice long nap today and went to bed with no issues!

Trevor LOVES his construction truck videos and is learning the names of the equipment from these silly songs. He is so cute running around telling people “Impact hammer”. Sometimes he says it really well!

Trevor usually wakes up early and just spends time in his crib, resting, until someone comes to get him. I have no idea what the morning will be like now that he can get out of bed. It could get more interesting from here on out!

****UPDATE 11:00PM****
Moment of confusion, 10 minutes sleeping on the floor! He is so cute! He realized that the bed was much more cozy and climbed back in.

  1. Good morning from the east coast!!! Good grief, Trevor is growing up way too fast! He looks adorable in his “big boy bed”!! Hoping that he still hung out for you this morning. Your cousin Michael used to go on covert missions when he thought no one was looking!! (guess he was always destined to become a Marine). Blood work….glad that seemed to go OK for you, it can be a recipe for disaster. Hoping too that all of it will come back normal!! Brendan was a cutie sneaking up on Trevor in the video!! Prayers, hugs and love!! 🙂

  2. Hahahaha! What a very cute video! Trevor’s words are priceless. I could watch it over and over again. 🙂 🙂
It is also very amusing the way Trevor practiced falling out of bed! What a silly boy! It looks like Brendan enjoyed the whole bed transformation, too. Just think, some day you’ll get to go through it with him, too….Brendan the climber! 😉
I’m glad the blood draws went as well as they did. Everyone survived, including you!
I hope your laptop survives its recent accident. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it somehow magically begins working.
Your comment about Trevor saying “I’ma fall” reminds me of you climbing the ladder to the slide saying “break-a-neck!” . I love when little ones start talking! It’s hilarious!!
Very funny and cute blog! I like the pictures of Trevor trying to sleep
    on his floor, too! 🙂
    Lots of love and hugs,
    Gramma xxxx

  3. I love the spy cam pictures! I can’t believe how big Trevor is. Looked like both boys would have loved to keep the crib as a climbing apparatus. Reading this makes me want to take a long nap!
