Year 3 – Week 21 – Day 6

There has been so much to think about this month, I let March 12th go by and totally didn’t really realize that we just passed the 2yr anniversary of Brendan’s last open heart surgery. It doesn’t compute in my brain. Last year, I made a big video about his progress. This year, I guess it is a good sign that we have moved on and are focusing on all of life’s forward progress so much that we forgot this milestone.
Watching the first anniversary video now is surreal to me. Here is that video if you missed it last year.

Back to today, it was just a day full of errands and laundry. For the past few days, Trevor has taken an epic nap. Today I got him in bed at 12:30pm and I had to wake him up just before 4pm!! He must be about to launch up another few inches in height or something. I was so glad for the long nap, I finally was able to get our taxes done. WHEW!

It is unfair to Brendan that he has to stay inside sometimes while he is connected to his food pump

He got to make ketchup art instead

Silliness.

We are about a week out from the 2yr anniversary of getting the trach put in. Like the ostomy bags and the tape mustaches, trachs will one day be just a memory.

  1. What a great blog!! I can’t believe how much has happened in the past two years!! I am so grateful that I could be with all of you through a big part of Brendan’s journey. He is an amazing little boy, and a real fighter! And besides that, he’s as cute as can be! 🙂
The “here you go” video is great! Brendan obviously loves to tease Trevor. Their personalities and interaction are very amusing.
I love to hear all of the giggling and laughing in the last video. I’m glad there is silliness in your days. You spend so much time doing things with the boys to expose them to fun and adventures and outings. For us looking at the blog every day is like tuning in to a daily reality show! A day is not complete without it, and we want to see what will happen next. Never mind “Housewives of Anywhere”…we have “Brendan and Trevor of Chandler” to see! 😉
    Lots of love and hugs,
    Gramma xxxx

  2. “Silliness” . . . . THAT !! was sooooo good !!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
