Year 3 – Week 23 – Day 5

A pretty average day descended in to evening madness. The morning was good. The boys jeeped all around, it is one of the few things that they do together that rarely causes fighting and crying. Brendan loves to be driven around by Trevor, and he was wireless today!

We retired a big part of baby life today. Portable baby jail is gone. Trevor helped me hose it all down and take pictures. They were only on craigslist for a few hours before someone came to pick them up!

I got done a ton of sewing during naptime. Seven Brendan onesies are all done, just waiting for the new snap press to arrive so he can wear them.

This evening, it seemed like every little thing just set off raging temper tantrums. So much screaming, fighting, resisting, running away, throwing toys.. it was never ending.
We tried to let them outside and they somehow both ended up walking through a fresh pile of soupy dog crap – the only pile in the whole yard.
We got through dinner with Trevor wailing about how he wanted to drink a beer.
We got through bathtime with a slip and bonk on the head which led to even more crying. Brendan will have a nice bruise on his forehead.
We got through trach care with Trevor racing around with the corn popper and smashing it in to walls and gates and furniture.
I am grateful that we got through. Everyone is healthy and I just have to remember that bedtime eventually comes.
I am too mentally exhausted to post anything cute for April Fool’s Day. The joke was on me today!

  1. Trevor wanted to drink a beer??? 🙂 I’m sure it was no fun at the time, but that sounds funny to read!
It never fails that if there is only one pile of dog poop, someone will step in it.
The boys look so cute driving around in their jeep! So, what’s next on the list of modifications for the jeep, Bill? I have a feeling that tires are not where it stops! 🙂
I don’t know what I’d do without Craig’s List at the moment. It sure is looked at by a lot of people. You do have to deal with some people that a friend of mine refers to as “bottom-feeders”, but I’ve also met some really nice people.
I hope everyone gets a good night’s sleep tonight, and tomorrow is a better day.
Today, our April Fools trick was cold, very windy, winter-like weather. We needed to have a tree put in the ground, and it was so frozen, they couldn’t even break up the ground with a pick-axe from our extremely cold winter!! It took 4 men 6 hours to get it in the ground! Where’s Spring???
    Lots of love and hugs,
    Gramma xxxx

  2. Good morning from the East Coast!! All I can say is whew!! I was exhausted just reading your blog!! Gotta love toddlers/ little boys!! They are at that transition age…hang in and they will be more willing to listen to reason…in the meantime tighten your safety belts! Hoping that today will bring more peace and quiet!! The jeep photos were adorable!! Prayers, love and hugs!! 🙂

    🙂 🙂 🙂

Was it cold here yesterday?…….well, I got the inside of the refrigerator cleaned up ……
All the food that was in it, went out to the garage…………., and got colder 😮 and even the frozen stuff came back in, frozen harder than it was when it had gone out ! 😮 😮 🙂 🙂 🙂
