Year 3 – Week 25 – Day 4

Monday can’t help being Monday even with extra hands here. As we tried to cram in all of the things we needed to get done on Gramma’s last day, the day just flew by with boys fighting, yelling, crashing, whining, and having therapy. It is hard to get anything done.

I sneaked a spy cam picture of Gramma rocking Trevor. We have to leave for the airport early tomorrow so he will probably still be in bed. Brendan was a stinker all week and wouldn’t let her rock him. He cried, ran away and hid from his therapists today. At least he didn’t treat her like that.

We are always grateful to have Gramma here, and we hoped she would be able to relax. Instead, she works her butt off helping with the boys and cleaning and still taking care of things across the country. She is one hard-working Gramma. We look forward to the next visit, and still hope she can relax!!

  1. This is always the hardest part of any trip to AZ…the last night here. There’s packing to do (weighing suitcases!), checking to make sure I haven’t forgotten anything…and the hardest thing of all, putting Trevor to bed for the last time this visit. We rocked for a long time tonight. I think he knew I didn’t want to put him to bed, so he kept asking for “more rocking yes”. 🙂
Brendan liked me on his own terms. We did well when there were less people around, or he wanted me to do something with him or for him, but he was not going to let me rock him to sleep like the last time I was here. 🙁 I missed the holding and rocking, but I can see why he’s not very trusting with people he doesn’t really know well. So many people come and go, and try to make him do things he doesn’t want to do. He wasn’t sure that I wasn’t another therapist of some kind. He’ll know when we can spend more time together how much I love him, and I still loved watching him and seeing all of the amazing progress he made in the past 6 months.
Thank you, Tiffanie and Bill, for making me feel welcome and appreciated. I’m sorry that this trip was a bit different because some problems from home kept getting in the way of our time together. I appreciate your support and concern. Thank you for the nice things you said in this blog.
Leaving lots of love and hugs and kisses in AZ until next time,
    Gramma xoxoxoxo

  2. We got an inch or three of snow last night, it’s beginning to melt. Not the first time I’ve seen snow around Easter. Other than that not much happening.
Hoping to see Gramma’s post here, so I know she got safely home.
