Year 3 – Week 26 – Day 7

Today was totally unexpected. Due to some scheduling issues, we didn’t have a nurse today. After Brendan had another really bad night with restlessness, crying, pain and vomiting, I was really worried about how I was going to make it through.
I started him on plain pedialyte and some prunes pushed in to his tube. (He hadn’t pooped since Monday morning!) Not only did he have two giant poops this morning (I know, too much information), but he had a perfect day without so much as a gag.
I really wish that he handled his formula as well as the pedialyte. Unfortunately, over 24hrs, he will get only 120 calories from his pedialyte instead of the 900 he should get from formula.

The boys were very good to me today, and I am so happy Brendan felt well. He took a great nap too.

I apologize, Future Trevor. It is like a mommy’s right to have this picture.

It cooled down today. Yesterday was 98 degrees!! Today the high was 88, so the mornings and the evenings were gorgeous. We were outside as much as possible.
Trevor is teaching Brendan how to shake hands and say “How do you do?”

He is a tough teacher

He wore his cap for hours today, no oxygen, doing great. Not a single gag, choke, or spew.

We are weaning the formula back in again. Maybe with his gut all cleaned out, he will get back to normal. He has to be well for Kieran to visit! It is coming up so soon!

  1. What a really nice blog, and the pictures are adorable! Trevor reading his Potty Book is very cute. The series with Trevor teaching Brendan to shake hands is the best!
I wish UPS left packages on my porch like they leave at your house. 😉
I’m so glad to hear that you might have figured out Brendan’s tummy issue. Anyway, one really good day is a start. 🙂
I can’t wait to see pictures after cousin Kieran arrives next weekend (with Aunt Shannon and Uncle Jon). You should have lots of cuteness that week!
    Lots of love and hugs,

  2. Good morning from the firey East Coast!! Now we know what “red flag warning” is all about….about 1000 acres burned in a few fires!! We so enjoyed today’s post!! What a relief that Brendan is feeling much better!!! Nothing like a good poop to start off the day!! Looks like that goes for Trevor too!! 🙂 Great potty photo!! Love the book!! Hoping that you Tiffanie can catch up on some much needed rest and Brendan’s transition back to formula goes smoothly for all of you!! We could use some of that warm air…please send some!! Prayers, hugs and love!!! 🙂

  3. This day is off to a great start……….with a whole bunch of “Happy Brendan” pictures, that started off with Trevor 🙂 🙂 “reading the technical manual, to get the job done right” 😮 😉 🙂 🙂
    😉 326BT21……….I can almost hear Brendan’s thoughts:
    “Wait ’til you see what – – – I just payed for” 🙂 🙂 🙂
And, speaking of waiting, I can’t wait to see Keiran, Brendan, and Trevor, just being together……. and being “the boys” 🙂 🙂
    {{ “K”, is nine letters after “B” – – -“T” is nine letters after “K”……. guess that puts “K” right in the middle of all the fun 😮 😮 😉 🙂 🙂 }}
