Trevor had a special Daddy outing day and got to go to the zoo very early this morning. (Both boys were up at 6am). The fill-in nurse that trained today did a good job and kept Brendan entertained. What did I do with my free time? Housework! It would not have been my first choice, but the clutter and mess is an added stress and finding time to get to it makes more stress. Getting it done was totally worth it.
Bill took some great pictures on their outing.

As I looked at Trevor’s shaggy hair I said, “Trevor, do you need a haircut?” and he said, “Yes.” I asked if I should get out the clippers and he said, “Yes.” Then he said, “Haircuts are beautiful.”
He was just a little shaggy, but it gets hot and full of sunscreen.

Brendan has this little patch that always grows 8 times faster than the rest and makes a little mullet.

Both boys got a touch up with the clippers and then Trevor wanted to vacuum up the hair.

Bath time silliness. Apparently if you lather shampoo in your hair, bubbles will stick on it without popping and you will look like some adorable alien bubble head.

Bill was out at a celebration for a friend, so I was dealing with the boys alone at bedtime. I was lucky that Brendan’s night nurse dropped by to pick up some papers she forgot because I was able to rope her in to helping me get the boys in bed. (OK, she was very willing to volunteer). Thanks Mary Alyn for making that part of the night much better.
Trevor had such an action packed long outing, we were sure he would nap all afternoon. 1hr is all he needed, but then he was begging for dinner just after 4PM! “Eat. Eat. Eat.” he said, “My tummy needs more food.”

Very nice zoo pictures! No matter how many times there are zoo pictures posted, they are always new and very cute. 🙂
Haircut time! Funny how Brendan’s grows mostly in the back. They both look very cute with their hair clipped. Of course Trevor would be on clean-up duty. 😉 It’s so funny the way he likes to clean. He’s a very busy boy!
The bubble pictures made me laugh. It looks like they had a lot of fun, and look at those big smiles! 🙂
Mary Alyn to the rescue! Bath time/bedtime would have been tricky without help. It’s nice that you had someone who could help with that. I’m glad to hear that your fill-in nurse worked out well.
We had some nasty weather and tornado warnings yesterday. Our storm sirens went off and our street flooded. People were trapped in their cars not far from us. Thank goodness, we were all safe. Aunt Erin, Uncle Jules, Caleb and new baby Rhys had to huddle in a closet, as they don’t have a basement. This morning the sun is shining!
Lots of love and hugs,

Bubbles everywhere !, and one of them, 😉 cleverly turned into a “strategically placed” “star” 🙂 🙂 🙂 The whole series of “bubbles in the tub” pictures are priceless.
I really liked 2014/06/335t09.jpg , Trevor just looked “cool” walking with his shades, and hat on, and a drink in his hand.
Just after yesterday’s “monsoons”, I drove down to Oak Brook. The road flooding was pretty extensive, all the way down! We got a LOT of rain, over a LARGE area.
During the storm, the Vernon Hills “Emergency System” went into Tornado Warning mode. I’ve heard the “tests”, but rarely have I heard an actual warning. The “Weather Channel” had the “Live Doppler Radar” returns up, so I could see where things were and what direction they were going……it helped calm the nerves a bit to see *what and where*.
