Year 3 – Week 38 – Day 2

(Edited July 13th to add rest of pictures and descriptions)

We took the boys on a morning road trip to see the copper mine from the overlook. There were tons of giant vehicles working, but they were so far away that they were too tiny to keep the boys’ interest. They still had a good time running around.

The shaded information area is nice, except for the two big nests of yellow jackets in the corners. We didn’t stay under here for long!

Bill had to make a pit stop after the drive, the boys couldn’t figure out where he went and why they couldn’t go too. “Knock knock! Open up!”

Trevor’s first try with “noculars”
338t02

That’s better!
338t03

Trevor looks like an official tourist and Brendan looks like he’s making a prison break!
338t04

Brendan is wearing a cheesy Arizona t-shirt because we had to stop at a Walgreens and buy him a new shirt on the way. Note to self: Put extra clothes back in to the diaper bag.

The big tire and the bucket used to be open to climb on. Trevor kept saying “open gate!”. No cute pictures to be had with all the chain link around.
338bt03

They moved on to the giant piles of rocks
338bt04

Trevor was good at throwing heavy rocks, with a few reminders to not throw them toward his brother.

338t05

Dry cracked mud was interesting

It was getting really hot, so it was time to go

Brendan is silly. He likes car rides that don’t involve going to hospitals and doctors.
338b06

Where did he go?
338b07

At home, we relaxed in the air conditioning. The boys were supposed to nap while I went to visit a friend in the hospital. Instead, they gave Bill a hard time! When I got home, we made stick bombs.

Boom!

I could not look at the computer screen to resize all the pictures and get them posted. My eyes just wanted to close, so I had to finish this post the next morning!!

Took a minute to realize that rock was still in the air!
“The bold, and the boulder” 😉 🙂 🙂
It’s always a good day when there’s a picture of Brendan, smiling, and Trevor, being the “official tourist”. 🙂 🙂
