It was one of those days that I didn’t think would ever end. I didn’t have any ideas or energy enough to keep the boys entertained or to get Trevor to nap. Other than errands and laundry, we didn’t have much planned.
I finally had to strap them both in high chairs and put on a movie just to get a moment to breathe. But then the sky opened up and we leaped in to action!
We were supposed to be camping this weekend, but Bill ended up having to work today so we had to bump it to next weekend. Because we were expecting rain up north, I ordered the boys some rain gear. Good thing! It was perfect today! The temperature dropped from 109 to 78 in less than an hour. Sweet rain! Hooray for monsoons!
We got a text message from the guy across the street saying, “Thanks for the free entertainment!” The boys ran all around outside out front in the pouring rain!
It suddenly started pouring really hard and the wind whipped up! We had to run inside for a break!
Once it settled a bit, we went out back.
The boys did not want to come inside!! Both of them got to be a muddy mess. The only down side is that the top edge of the boots rubbed a bad mark on their little legs. I bought them some big tube socks, or they just need pants on with these boots. Lesson learned.
Random Trevor talk moment of the day:
Trevor is in Brendan’s crib bouncing around and stops for a moment, looks up and says, “Hmmm, I have an idea.”
Bill and I immediately look at each other with that look of “Uh oh!!” and laugh. I am not sure what Trevor’s idea was.
You will probably find out what Trevor’s idea was soon! 😉
What great pictures you got today! The ones of them stomping in the big puddle in the backyard are so cool because of the way you caught the water…or I should say “wake”!
It looks like the boys had a blast in the rain. What great entertainment provided by Mother Nature. 🙂
Yesterday’s pictures were very cute, too. I like the one of Trevor’s first attempt with the binoculars. And there’s that Brendan smile in his high chair! 🙂

Good morning from the East Coast! Your boys are so entertaining!! Weren’t you lucky that mother nature sent the rain! Just loved seeing them play in the puddles!! Brendan tried tasting the rain…so cute!! It is heartwarming to see both boys going on excursions with you and having so much fun!! Hoping that somehow you can catch up on much needed rest!
