Year 3 – Week 40 – Day 2

Just as I was about to start typing this, an emergency alert came up on my cell phone and made my heart jump out of my chest. That noise is so loud and it was just to tell me that another dust storm in on the way. Bill is out in the desert riding tonight, so now I will be waiting up to make sure he gets in safely.

I owe a big thanks to Christine for bringing me dinner and helping out with the boys tonight. They were all fired up and crazy today, in full demolition mode!

I didn’t figure that Trevor would nap this afternoon, so I propped him up in bed with a table and an ipad and told him that he didn’t have to sleep, but that he had to have quiet time so Brendan could rest.

I was double fooled!! Trevor passed out around 2:30PM and Brendan (who was crazy all morning and should have been tired) slept for only 15 minutes! What do I know?

This is how we share and play nice. For a short time, one was ordering food at the window and the other was cooking it up. Then I guess they both really wanted to be the customer.

Bill is on his way home now, and the rain has arrived at the house with thunder and lightning. I hope it doesn’t wake up the crazies!

  1. Good morning from the Lake House!! Haboob…the closest we come to one is when Uncle Rich breaks out his leaf blower!! Cannot imagine being in one!! Glad that Bill made it home safely!! Just love the sequences with the boys in the kitchen and watching the Haboob!! Hoping Great-Grandma had a better day!! Prayers, hugs and love!! 🙂

  2. I loved watching the haboobs, as long as everyone was safe. It is a very strange weather system, unlike anything we get.
I love the last picture of this blog. It’s funny that they both wanted to be the customer so badly! 🙂 they will laugh at these pictures some day.
Great-Grandma is having a very hard time getting any real PT going. There have been so many other issues going on to prevent it. I’m sure Brendan could tell her about how hard it is to do PT, and how you just want to be left alone! Sometimes she’s just too anxious to even try. And sometimes, it just hurts too much. 🙁 She does love the colorful poster of her beautiful great-grandchildren hanging on the wall of her room. It gets many oohs, ahs, and awws….. 🙂 She loves telling the nurses about each and every picture.
    Lots of love and hugs,

  3. Speaking of a “Haboob” – – –
Looks like the “customers” ( Brendan and Trevor ) were acting out the arrival of one. 🙂 😉 😉 🙂 😮

It is a bit unnerving here, when the sirens go off, and the booming voice of the P.A. system’s loudspeakers, announce a Tornado Warning.
Last night’s evening news, had photos of the latest Haboob. Strange, but interesting, and sometimes frightening, “phenomena”.
