I learned an important lesson about a toddler and alarm clock combination last night. If said alarm clock is activated by a fiddling toddler that is having quiet time in his room, it will alarm at the default time of 12:00am. It will then scare the crap out of said toddler so that he spends the next two hours wide awake and full of adrenaline and fear. *YAWN*
We tried to make it a down day. The boys tried out the hide-a-bed and had their breakfast and tech-time.

Brendan likes to turn the ipad up to full volume and then cover his ears that it is too loud.

Trevor kept bringing me digger trucks and asking to go outside in the dirt, but I kept telling him it was hot like an oven outside. He settled for scooping “shiny rocks”. Brendan enjoyed shaking them in the tin can (also VERY loud)

They shared a “bowl” of chex mix off of the couch. Trevor’s little stick vacuum actually worked really well to clean this up when they were done.

This series of spy-cam shots is from the hour and twenty minutes that it took me to get clean sheets back on Trevor’s bed. They were “helping”.

Trevor skipped his nap, but went to bed at 7:30pm. Brendan is still fighting bedtime at 9:00pm.
The countdown now officially begins……… 10……
In what might be the undeniably craziest thing we have ever done, in ten short days, we will be hooking up Gramma’s house and taking it on the trip that we have been prepping for these last 8 months.

I’m sure, as funny as it seems now, it wasn’t funny when the alarm went off at midnight and scared Trevor!
It’s still amazing to see Brendan putting food to his mouth and tasting and licking things. Seeing him snack on chex mix with Trevor seems so “normal”! 🙂
You had two little gremlins helping you make the bed! It’s no wonder it took so long!
I can’t believe you’re leaving in 10 days!! What an adventure it will be! I hope it will all go well, and it will be fun and worth all of the work. So exciting!!!!! 🙂
Lots of love and hugs,
Gramma xxxx
Good Morning from the Lake House!! Just 10 days until your journey!!! How wonderful and exciting!! Remember the laundry basket! What a treat for Grandma…surrounded by all her grandkids!!! Helpers with bed making….tons of fun!! Brendan, snacking with Trevor!! Great post!!! Prayers, hugs and love!! 🙂
We all need a little crazy in our lives. Granted, you got a double dose!
The girls are excited to have you come visit too! It will be an awesome thing to have all of us together – 4 sisters and our 7 children, as well as Gramma and Grampa and Great-Grandma. I know this will be tough, and the adventure will no doubt have hiccups, but you guys have done an amazing job of planning and prepping as best you can so that the boys will have the best trip possible. Someday, your boys will look at these posts and realize just how much you guys love them and want them to have every chance to explore and learn and grow! I wonder what Trevor will think when “Gramma’s house” is brought to Gramma’s house!
🙂 🙂 🙂 ” I know this will be tough, and the adventure will no doubt have hiccups ”
😉 Just to make sure, I’ll try to keep “Hiccup”, busy, riding “Toothless”:) 🙂
Wishing everyone who will be traveling, a safe trip here, and safe home again.
