Year 3 – Week 43 – Day 4

Our last day in Illinois, we can’t believe our visit is over. Because everyone was sick, we just had Gramma and Grampa Dusty to visit. We went to say goodbye to Great-Grandma too.

Brendan also got a turn to visit next door and play the marble game.

Trevor drove around in Caleb’s monster truck. Poor Caleb is sick now too, we hope he feels better really soon.

Trevor says he is giving the truck a “tune-up”. He told me that he put gas, oil, and wiper fluid in it and he aired up the tires.

The boys are running around like wild crazies right now, hopefully they fall asleep in the truck on the way back to the camper. We have a LOT of packing and prep to do for a morning departure.

  1. I always hate the days we have to say goodbye to family from far away places, or the days I have to leave them behind to come home. I always want to hold the little ones tight and not let them go. 🙁
This visit has been a whirlwind and a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. Nothing was quite the way it was supposed to be with Great-Grandma so ill and not at home, and Aunt Erin, Rhys, Caleb, and Kayla getting sick. We couldn’t all be together as much as we would have liked.
Still, I will never take for granted how amazing it was to have everyone home at the same time, and all my grandchildren together for the first time. (aka cousin-palooza)
My children and my grandchildren bring me the greatest love and joy I’ve ever known. Thank you all so very much for everything you do, and believe that nothing goes unnoticed or unappreciated.
With sadness to see everyone who had to go home leave, but also with lots of love and big hugs for all for an amazing week, and a safe journey to Bill, Tiffanie, Brendan, and Trevor from Gramma, who’s missing everyone already. I’m so glad that Jon, Shannon, and Kieran made it home last night safe and sound.

  2. Good Morning from the Lake House!! Just looking at your posts and seeing the boys playing with their cousins, etc.. it seems that both boys have just “grown up” and are quite the handsome young men!! Must be something in the camper!!?? Love Gramma’s new rock!! The boys picked a great one!! Safe journey home!!! Prayers for all, hugs and love!!! 🙂

  3. “The Marble Game” : Brendan, your Gramma, your Mom, and Your Aunts all played with that Marble Game. Maybe you, or one of your cousins will, one day, have that game, and the “next” generation can play with it. 🙂
Who would have thought, 42 years 4 months 24 days ago, that all this, would be.

Just because one marriage wasn’t meant to last, does not mean that four fantastic daughters, and seven wonderful grandchildren, weren’t meant to be.
