There is nothing glamorous about over-the-road travelling. We are at about the half way point now: Elk City, OK. We are dividing up the miles in to four days of driving instead of three because the near 700 mile days in the car were killer. We did just over 400 today and stopped before dinner. It makes a difference! Tomorrow we shoot for Gallup, NM and then Friday for home.
We found a better stopping place today and took some time to let the boys run around. It was 100 degrees though!! I was hoping that we wouldn’t get to that just yet!

Brendan says, “See ya! I am going to McDonalds!”

The boys ate a truck load of fries!

Trevor is trying to feed fries to Brendan

Time to go back to the truck again

We settled in at another KOA camp site and Trevor immediately scoped out the best dirt

This is the second KOA that has a “vintage” playground. Concrete tunnels..

Old crooked metal merry-go-rounds

Brendan is signing that his Daddy is going round and round

You don’t find new playgrounds with tall structures made out of rough broken lumber, protruding nails, and rusty poles. How did we ever make it?

Brendan figured out how to turn on the water

I was proud of Brendan for getting muddy

Same old thing every day.. So far Brendan is healthy and we want to keep it that way!

We have tried to make the most of our travel time and find the fun when possible. We are also thinking about Great-Grandma and Gramma and the difficult choices ahead and wish that we could wrap them in hugs and do something to help.

There’s always good in any day that has pictures of Brendan and Trevor looking healthy, happy, and muddy! I’m so glad to hear you had some fun along the way today.
I hope tomorrow is a good day, and there are reasons for more big smiles on cute little boys.
Trevor looks like he’s doing a Popeye impression with the bottle of route beer! 🙂
Lots of love and big hugs,
Gramma xxxx
Good Morning from the Lake House!! Ditto on Gramma’s post!! Nice to see the boys muddy and having fun!!! Wishing you safe travels!! Praying for GreatGrandma and your family, hugs and love!!! 🙂
About 30 miles to the Texas Panhandle, according to Multiple Application Positioning Systems.
* Two dirty boys need a bath! *

I have to agree with the “Popeye impression” 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 —– 😉
I know you’re on the road as I am writing this, but, *Safe Home* anyway.
