Year 3 – Week 44 – Day 1

We are home! 3765.5 miles on the truck later..
We are all exhausted and buried in work to unpack and re-organize. I am very proud of the boys for making the trip such a success. Bill and I will never forget it even though the boys will have no memories of it, just pictures.

Brendan demonstrates how difficult it is to sleep in carseats, but we will all be sleeping hard tonight.

It took less than three minutes to make a giant mess in the playroom. They were so excited to see all their toys.

When I was getting Trevor in his pajamas, he says, “ooh someone got a big new bed”. He went to sleep easily, I hope he sleeps all night!

  1. I was so happy to hear you are home safe and sound. 🙂 I can hardly believe last Friday you were here and we still had 3 more days before you were going to leave. The time has gone so fast, and yet I’m sure you had 4 very long days on the road.
It was nice to hear Brendan’s and Trevor’s voices on the phone this afternoon. I miss you all very much.
Today I printed the picture that Aunt Shannon posted of me with my 4 beautiful daughters, and my 7 amazing grandchildren. I made a blue mat for it to go with our blue shirts, and I took it to Great-Grandma. She loved it! She was wearing her blue plaid dress with it’s new snaps (thank you Tiffanie and Heather), and sitting in her wheelchair with the lap blanket made by Aunt Heather, she also loves both of those. She looked at the picture for some time, and then I put it on her cork board on the wall. I think it made her happy and a little sad all at the same time. She wanted so much to spend time with all the kids. Seeing them, and seeing this blog has brought her much joy over the years. Thank you too for all of the visits while you were here.
    Lots of love and hugs,
    Gramma xxxx

  2. Good morning from the Lake house!! HOME!!! SAFE!!! YAY!!! Brendan with noodles!!! YAY!! Cannot even imagine how complicated it was putting together, executing and actually completing your journey!! Am sure the boys just might remember some of their time away!! How fortunate that you do have “Gramma’s” house!! Seeing and being with family must have been really wonderful, helps to restore the soul!! Prayers, hugs and love!! 🙂

  3. Prayers of thanks for prayers answered, you are home.
Yes Brendan, car seats are car seats, not beds. Adventures, unlike “Vacations”, are not required to be “comfortable” – – – but, they are required to be exciting. I just have this feeling that you all had an exciting adventure. 😉 🙂 🙂 🙂
