Year 3 – Week 46 – Day 1

Today was a whirlwind. We interviewed a new nurse this morning and that went very well. We have a crazy month ahead of us and need the help!

I woke up today not knowing whether or not I was going to be able to attended the funeral services, it seemed out of reach. But after being on the phone pretty much all day getting things planned out, we were able to book some plane tickets. Southwest actually had very reasonable last minute fares and as soon as I was done paying for the tickets, I was able to check in and print boarding passes! Weird!
Bill and Brendan will be staying home, Trevor and I will be leaving the house at 6am tomorrow and coming back on Tuesday night.

I have been doing laundry, shopping for shoes, packing and prepping and going a little bit more crazy, so I didn’t take pictures. I just have this cheat photo of the boys getting super dirty out front.

This is going to be quite a weekend since I was so unprepared! We just got back from Libertyville! Our grief is strong and emotions are high, but I am very much looking forward to seeing everyone again so soon and I hope everything goes smoothly.

  1. I am so filled with love and appreciation that all of my wonderful amazing daughters will be home with me to say goodbye to Great-Grandma. She would be very touched that after just being here a short time ago, you would come back, and go through what you need to do to get here. I don’t know how to thank you enough. Safe travels, and I hope it all goes smoothly, too.
Safe travels to Aunt Shannon and Kiran, too. I will see you in a few hours!
It truly means so much to me that you are all coming. xoxo
    Love,
    Gramma

  2. It took me a bit to figure out how to get this blog up on my laptop. The desktop computer’s wifi adapter stopped connecting, so it couldn’t “get on line”.
Took me three days to figure out how to get reconnected. I don’t mind a “learning curve”, they’re fun!. This, however was a “learning picket fence”, and I got “all the points”.
The Family pictures, are fantastic! so happy to see them, I kind of needed that little bit of happy-ness right now.

    • Pictures: Great-grandma loved the poster of “her gang”, if there was any real brightness in her days at Manor care, it was being able to see all her great-grandchildren.
