Year 3 – Week 45 – Day 2

We made it!

I had to peel Trevor out of bed at 5:45am and head to the airport. We had to fly to Los Angeles for a plane change on the way, there were no direct flights. We took off from L.A. headed west and did a big loop over the water. I did not really expect to see the Pacific Ocean this morning on my way to Illinois.
When we were descending in to Milwaukee, we took a big wide turn extra east over Lake Michigan.

Trevor was a super good boy to handle all of the hustle and checking bags, SkyTrain, security check, plane change, etc. We watched our connecting plane pull in to the gate and saw our own bags come up on the baggage train and get loaded up.

Heather had a wonderful hot meal waiting for us, thanks very much! Shannon and Kieran also arrived safely. We all enjoyed the meal and the company but felt the hole left by Great-Grandma’s absence. Today she would have been 93yrs old.

Trevor slept for more than two hours on the plane, so of course he is wide awake at 11PM (9:00PM AZ time).

  1. Tiffanie, again I am so sorry for your loss, I know how much she will be missed by your family. I truely feel your sadness. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you, give your family our love.

  2. Good Morning from the East Coast. Really relieved that you, Trevor, Shannon and Kieran arrived safely. We too share your sadness. We were talking about your Grandma….what is the sweetest memory with Bobbie? Let me preface…there was never a time that Bobbie was not smiling when we were together!! Our favorite moment with Bobbie, was actually earlier this year! We were at your Mom”s and Bobbie came in to the kitchen and I asked (knowing she was now in 90’s and many elderly, who haven’t seen someone in a few years, might not orient quickly) do you remember us? Bobbie, “Of course I remember you!!”, with a huge smile, and almost a giggle…as if to say, “she thinks I’m old and can’t remember…she’s wrong!!”. Watching her interact with your Mom, the Grandchildren and the Great-grandchildren was heartwarming. She just did not stop smiling and delighted in her family’s presence. No doubt she will be greatly missed…..no doubt that all of you will have wonderful memories to soften your sadness. Uncle Rich and I love you!! Hugs, love and prayers! 🙂

    • Thank you for such a nice words and a beautiful tribute to Mom/Grandma/Great-Grandma. She thought the world of you and Rich, and always did. She considered you family, and enjoyed your visit in January as though you had come just to see her. I am so glad that you did get here and could spend time with her.
All of your continuing thoughts, prayers, gifts, and memories are appreciated so very much. You’re the best!
Love and hugs to you and Rich,
      Cindy (Gramma)

  3. It was so heartwarming for Trevor to get out of your rental car, and run up my driveway so I could scoop him up and get a big hug and see his big Trevor smile. It’s the best medicine in the world, and just what needed.
Gramma misses you, Brendan. I can’t wait to see you again, too. Take care of Daddy for a few days, and thank you for letting Mommy and Trevor come here. I’m so glad you got to be here just a short time ago and you could make Great-Grandma smile. She loved you very much and thought you were a very special boy. She always said, “That little boy is going to grow up and do something very special. He has gone through so much, and there’s a reason he came through it all, he is an amazing boy!”.
Lots of love to my amazing family, who have rallied around me to help me through a very difficult time. I am a very lucky Gramma. xxxx

  4. Tiffanie,
Relieved that you and Trevor are safely here. Sounds like your trip was quite an adventure !
Shannon, it was good to read that you and Kieran are here too.
Gramma’s “medicine” (( Daughters and Grandchildren )) is here now……that should help ease the *pain of loss*- – – – – a little bit.
